I'm cranking out these updates! Trying to get one or two more out today before this week starts and I go AWOL!
"Oh my Lord Gerald! Who is this?" The woman gasped backing away from the door making sure she had the right address.
Vincent was frozen in shock and embarrassment. This must be Iris's parents. "Um ma'am, sir-" Vincent was interrupted by Iris lacing her arms around his waist.
"What's taking you so long?" She whispered into his back kissing his spine. She felt Vincent tense up. "What the hell!"
Iris jumped away from Vincent like he burned her at the sound of her parents' voices. "IRIS ELISE!" Her mother yelled pulling her away from Vincent.
"Oh my God momma what are y'all doing here!" She exclaimed pulling down Vincent's shirt as much as she could. If it weren't for the unfortunate situation Vincent would have found her little accent peeping out cute. But right now he was a tiny bit scared of her mother.
"We came to surprise you but I can see you've been busy fooling around with white men!" Her mother whisper yelled.
Vincent just felt like an object that was the most hated in the room. Mrs. Darrington was reprimanding Iris while her father just stared at him challengingly. Vincent had 5 inches on him but the man was buff.
"Momma listen it's not what you think." Iris said calmly holding her mother's hands. "So you're telling me it doesn't look like your wh*ring for white men with your daughter around!" Her father bellowed.
Iris and her mother gasped at his outburst. Vincent wasn't going interject in the family drama but NO ONE talked about Iris like that. He stepped forward looking down at the man.
"I'd watch my mouth if I were you." Vincent's voice lowered. "Do you know who you're talking to?" Gerald Darrington stepped forward.
"No and you clearly don't know who you're talking to. I don't give a d*mn of your relations to her, you will NOT insinuate my woman is a wh*re." There was so much venom in his voice Gerald flinched back.
"Hey it's fine." Iris tried to soothe Vince. "No it's not." Her mother said glaring at her father. "I'm just as mad as you Gerald, but you will not EVER talk about my daughter that way."
Guilt flashed through her father's eyes before he stomped out of the house. Iris exhaled a shaky breath.
"Go put some clothes on Elise we have a lot of talking to do." Mrs. Darrington said with a dark look in her eyes.
Iris looked toward Vincent apologetically before rushing off leaving him alone with her mother. Vincent shifted back and forth awkwardly.
"Now you listen here boy. I don't know your relations with my daughter but one thing is for sure, I will not let you hurt her or involve her in criminal activities."
Vincent just swallowed and nodded. "What's your name?" Vincent scratched his head. He knew this reaction was going to be a bad one.
"Um Vincent..." she looked at him in expectancy to continue. Vince sighed. "Madden." Iris's mothers eyes doubled in size as she took a step back tripping. Vincent reached out and caught her just as her husband walked in. "Get your hands off my wife!" Gerald growled.
