"Where did he go?"

I looked around for a moment then, I heard a bang and movement. Suddenly, the blonde reappeared holding my dad up by his throat.

That was when I had my moment of adrenaline, I suddenly had an urge in my body and reacted in a second. I flung my arm and sent ice chunks at him, pining Simon to the wall behind him.

Whoa, I didn't think my aim was that good. He looked over at me with a blank expression and went invisible again.

Well shit.

"Geez, Mia. Do you know what's going on?" Julie asked. I looked around cautiously for our invisible friend.

"Um, when we were kidnapped. I think they did something to turn us into mind-blank solders." She looked at me for a second on alert. Like she was putting things together in her mind.

"Like Bucky Barnes from avengers?"

Who the hell is Bucky? What is avengers?"

"I don't know what that is but if Bucky was brainwashed into using his powers for someone then yes. Like Bucky from Avengers." I told her, I suddenly felt an impact on my chest and sent me back to the wall and falling onto the floor. "If you hit him, he will reappear!" I yelled, trying to situate myself back up. "I think."

I used my arms to maneuver myself on the ground and dug my hands onto the floor, a thick layer of ice spread out and I saw a glimpse of Simons foot get caught in it. I shot my ice and him again and saw him fly back into the wall, this time leaving a dent in it.

Julie, being able to see him grabbed the closest thing to her, a keyboard, and flung it at our assailant. He caught it in midair and threw it to the side, his angered focus now caught on Julie.

I suddenly felt a course of adrenaline run through my veins. I pulled myself forward with my arms to get to her before he could. Suddenly I felt myself getting up and I felt the ice buildup below me, I couldn't feel my legs. But I felt the ice, like an extension of my body, I could feel and control it below me.

I looked down for one moment and saw the ground beneath me, I couldn't hesitate though, I couldn't celebrate or rejoice. I only had one goal.

Protect Julie.

Before I knew it I had pushed him so hard we had hit the wall again. He pushed back and I froze the area around us, the wall and floor became an ice charred wasteland. It became so fragile that when I slammed him back against the wall, slices and pieces of metal shattered around us.

And went falling to the streets below.

He flipped me around and I spun him again until we crashed into the streets with his back to the ground.

It was like he didn't even feel the pain. The concrete was cracking against our power yet he kept pushing against me. I wouldn't give up. I kept getting colder until he was basically frozen to the sidewalk.

The sides of his face was pink with cold. His breaths gave out in little balls of smoke. I needed to stop or else I would hurt him. If I did though, he would attack me.

"Simon! Snap out of it!" I yelled, he wouldn't give. I didn't want to hurt him. I didn't want to hurt anyone. I just needed him to stop before he hurt anyone else.

"Simon! Its Mia!" I yelled. "Come on! We watched America's got talent! You know me." I looked into his grey eyes again and made them meet my brown ones. I grabbed his face with my one cold hand. "Look at me." Suddenly his stone expression melted and the shy awkward kid resurfaced.

Simon came back.

"Mia?" He said confused. "What happened where- "He looked over and saw a group of huddled civilians with their phones and cameras out, recording us.
