We stayed there for a while, living at the beach house and enjoying the relaxation.
It was almost a month of relaxation, and I was in the kitchen reading a book. There was not much to do though, we all agreed that using tech was too risky and Julie was getting agitated on that, so we were limited to books, puzzles and the beach. I looked up at a bang and saw a box of crackers was knocked to the floor, with no one around.
"Simon, you don't have to sneak food." I announced, looking back at my book. I saw him reappearing and looking surprised.
"I am trying to be sneaky." He argued. "I'm practicing." I looked at him and rolled my eyes.
"Try not to drop things next time." When I looked back up he was gone. I looked side to side and scoffed. "Very funny." I sat there pretending to read for a second, listening around me. I heard the floor creak beside me and I sighed.
I quickly moved my hand and grabbed an arm, slowly he became visible and distraught.
Can't sneak up on me.
"Ow, ow!" He mumbled, I let go of his arm, leaving it cold to the touch. "Why are you so cold?" I raised my eyebrow at him before he realized his own answer. He was so naive and forgetful, but he had this vibe about him. Some kind of childlike wonder with everything he did.
We still had troubles remembering how some things worked and memories in general but we were working on it.
"So, how big is America?" I asked, curiously. "I keep hearing about all of these different places, Canada, Toronto, New York and all of these places." I shrugged. "Are they all in America?"
"No I don't think so." He said, "I think there are all kinds of countries." He said, hopping on the bar and smiling. "The world is huge."
The world is huge. How big, how many different places were there? Were there places always cold like me or was all of the earth hot? How much was water, how much wasn't. My mind raced of endless possibilities of places I couldn't remember or picture.
I went to turn my chair and saw Ty standing there with Macy at his heel.
"What the fuck Ty." I grumbled. "How come the only person who can sneak up on me is a blind man and his dog?" He stood there, proud of himself as Macy hopped up on my legs.
I love that dog, she was so friendly and sweet. All she wanted was pats and cuddles all the time.
"You know I'm going to steal your dog right?" I told him.
"If you do that, that I will be pretty defenseless." He admitted, reaching his arm out for a moment, feeling for the white dog. He patted her head as she sat by his feet and relaxed.
"I don't think you will be defenseless." I corrected. "Considering you are the equivalent to a human volcano." He laughed and shook his head.
"So what is this, fire and ice?" He mocked sarcastically. "And the invisible kid."
"Well, at least me and the invisible kid can control our powers." I mocked, "You don't even use your powers." He looked a little taken back and shook it off his face for a moment and replaced it with his casually cocky smirk.
"I use it; I am hot aren't I?" He laughed, idly minded petting Macy. "Besides, I don't need too."
"Your telling me, you don't bask in it at all?" I commented. "You have been given one of the most powerful abilities, and you don't use them?"
"Sometimes I have to." He admitted. "Fun fact, if you don't use your powers for a long time, you get sick." He shivered slightly at the memory. "Trust me, it is an awful feeling. I had to learn that the hard way." He walked over to the counter and felt around for something.
