Senior year. Everyone's favorite year, apparently. Yeah, let's see if that lives up.

"Ashlyn, you'll be fine." my mom says from the drivers seat as she pulls up to the front of the school.

"Yeah, you haven't been in school in forever Ma, it's changed."

She pats my arm, "hunny it hasn't changed that much."

I roll my eyes and grab my bag, "yeah okay. Have a good day at work." I hop out of the car and close the door behind me.

"Ash!" I hear my best friend Bailey yell.

"Bales!" I yell back and wait for her to come to my side.

"How was the last two days of your summer?" she asks once she's by my side.

"Amazing." I say sarcastically. "Well actually it wasn't too bad. Me and Ma drove to Miami. We stayed at a really nice hotel and walked around the mall."

"So it was actually amazing?" she asks as we walk to the student office.

"I mean, I guess you could say that." I open the door and let Bailey walk in. I follow after her and I hear her breathing stop. "What it is now?"

"New boy." she says. "Actually correction, hot new boy. Very hot."

"What where?"

She points at a boy with obviously dyed blond hair and deep blue eyes. And custom colored vans, he colored in the squares so now instead of white and black, it's green and black. "Isn't he dreamy?" she asks.

I sigh, "we haven't even made it to first period and you're already crushing."

"That's not new." she says as we grab our schedules off the tables.

I'm aware that it's not new, but I hoped that it would change for senior year. "Ashlyn?"

I look away from Bailey and in the direction of the voice, it was Principle Jones. "Good morning sir."

"I know you're not an office assistant this year, but I was wondering if you could show a new student around. All of the assistants are busy at the moment."

I look at Bailey, "do you mind?"

She shakes her head, "nah go ahead."

I look at her and smile, "you got B lunch right?"

She looks down at her schedule. "Like always." Then she turns around and walks out of the office, but not without catching one last glance at the new boy.

"Okay Mr Jones who am I showing around?"

Mr Jones smiles and claps his hands, "Mr Seavey. He's new just moved from Portland a few weeks ago."

I nod my head, "the time difference must suck to get used to."

Mr Jones chuckles, "I would assume so, But he's right over here."

I look at my feet as we walk in silence and then we stop. Right next to my all black vans are those custom green and black ones.
