"I still don't get how you can down so much Taco Bell.." Daniel says as we lay back in bed.
"All about the years of practice," I say.
"I've eaten Taco Bell my whole life, but I've never eaten it like you."
"Years of practice with Thomas. Many years."
Daniel laughs, "now that man can hold down his food."

I wake up with the sun piercing my eyes. I shove my head into my pillow and groan, I'm not really a morning person. I feel for a body next to me, but the sheets are cold. I instantly shoot up and look around the room for Daniel, he's not there. I climb out of bed and slip on a hoodie and a pair of shorts before walking into the kitchen.
I walk into the kitchen to see Dad and Daniel sitting at the table. Daniel has a glass of apple juice in front of him while he's on his phone and Dad he's reading the paper while he has a cup of coffee sitting in front of him. They're completely silent.
"Did anyone think to wake up Ashlyn?" I ask breaking the silence.
Daniel smiles, "I did, but you looked tired," he says not looking up from his phone.
"You were sleeping so well, I didn't want to wake you either," Dad adds.
I shake my head, "I'm going to go get ready for the day." I turn around and start to walk away, "hey Daniel get dressed too." I say over my shoulder.
I have an idea for today.
-
A half hour later I'm dressed. Light grey sweater, black leggings, black old school vans, and a beanie with straight hair. Yet Daniel is still getting ready.
"Okay, what can you possibly be doing that takes you so long to get ready?" I ask walking into the bedroom.
"I can't choose which pants I want to wear," Daniel says.
I look at him, "seems like you can't choose what shirt to wear either." I walk further into the room and close the door. "What shirt are you going to wear?" I ask.
"This one," he says holding up a green Off White shirt.
I look back at the bed where he has pants pulled out. I grab a black pair and hand them to him. "Wear these and your military boots and a black beanie."
"What's with you calling them military boots?" He asks while putting on his clothes.
"Because look at them," I announce grabbing them out of the corner. "They look like part of the outfit a soldier would wear on the field."
Daniel shakes his head as he puts on a belt, "you're something else."
"I'm amazing and you know it."
"Definitely."
"I don't need your sarcasm."
Daniel puts on his boots and beanie before looking at me again, "that wasn't sarcasm."
"So it was attitude?" I jokingly ask.
"No, but if you continue to annoy me I will show you attitude."
I smirk, "feisty. I like it."
Daniel chuckles and shakes his head, "so where are we going?"
"A place, but I need your keys."
"Can you tell me where we're going?
"Nope, but if you trust me you'd give me your keys," I say with a smile. Daniel rolls his eyes but nevertheless hands me his keys. "Thank you very much."
I walk back into the kitchen and stop to talk to Dad, "okay we're heading out. Have a good day at work."
Daniel and I walk to his car and I unlock it and we both climb in. "Why can't you tell me where we're going?" Daniel asks again.
"Because it's a bunch of little surprises, so basically that would be a lot more talking than necessary."
"Fine, have your secrets," Daniel says with a huff.
