The sound of the alarm beckoned me back to the realm of the living, and I rolled around in bed searching for the source of the beeping. Eventually discovering it, I smashed my fingers against the screen, turned it off and sighed. It was so early. With a grunt, I flipped to the side to look at the rays of sun that snuck through the curtains.

It was a beautiful morning already.

On the ground, next to an empty bag of chips, was a half-empty, open bottle of cola. I discovered the bag as I stepped on it, and immediately pulled back as I didn't know what I'd just touched. The bottle was a more explosive story, as my foot brushed against it and made it fall, dark liquid spreading quickly.

"Crap!" I whined, mind unusually attentive as I turned the bottle upright and dashed out the door in an attempt to find something to clean up the mess with. I grabbed the first thing I saw, -a graying towel- and ran back to my room, ready to soak it up.

"Y/N? Is that you?" I heard my father call from downstairs, and as I started to clean up the soda, I yelled back "Yeah, it's me! Just... I need some time, dad!" To my greatest fear, he answered me immediately. Not with the semi-interested acknowledgement I had expected, but with something much, much worse.

"Hoseok's here for you! I'm sending him up!" I panicked, and the moment I was sure the carpet was unharmed, I dropped the towel and ran to the door. Hoseok was coming up the stairs, looking at me with a curious expression.

"Y/N, what are you-" he began, but I just dragged him inside and shut the door. Noticing the absolute mess that was my bedroom -clothes scattered all over the floor, the miniature pond by my bed, and bowls all over my nightstand- he sighed.

I looked at him with begging eyes. "You have got to help me, Hobi."

He rolled his eyes. "Well... I was going to pick you up so we could meet the others for lunch-"

"Lunch?! How long did I sleep for?!"

"-but I've decided you could definitely need some help from the great Jung Hoseok," he finished, grinning like he was on top of the world.

I sighed, smoothing over my hair with my hands. "Alright. I need to go to the bathroom. Please don't let my dad in, because I promised to clean up yesterday, and if you could fix the, y'know, that," I explained, gesturing to the cola with one hand, "Lake Superior-situation?" Hoseok offered. "Yeah, that. It would really help," I nodded.

He patted my head, and I squirmed a little. "Alright, Y/N." As he got down on the floor and started to dry up the puddle, I hurried into the bathroom and pulled along a pair of jean shorts for good measure.

Once, I would have been embarrassed to meet Hoseok after just waking up, and especially being dressed in a t-shirt and underwear. That embarrassment-train had long since passed, as we had slept over at each other's houses numerous times all through our childhood. Not since Hoseok had begun hanging out with them, though.

After pulling my shorts up, I washed my hands before returning to the bedroom. Hoseok had dried the floor, and was looking through piles of my used -and unused- clothes. I immediately blushed when he picked up a bra in a hot shade of pink, tag still attached.

Life lesson; never go online-shopping at two in the morning after crying about your crush.

He opened his mouth to say something, but I quickly snatched the bra out of his hands and threw it under my bed. "Ew! Don't touch that. It's gross," I scoffed, sitting down on the carpet opposite of him.

We started to sort dirty and clean clothes, and soon enough, we had two big piles on either side of us. For the first time in so long, we laughed and joked. Like nothing had ever come between us.
