"Y/N? Honey, wake up. There's someone here to see you."

I woke up to my dad shaking my shoulder. Uh?" I groaned, pulling myself up so I was sitting with my back to the headboard. Dad smiled warmly at me. "There's someone here to see you," he repeated.

I rubbed my eyes, noticing the sound of multiple people -specifically men- speaking downstairs. My heart sunk so low I thought it had been a dream. I thought I had dreamed every part of the party, but judging by the slit of ink barely visible on my arm, that couldn't be the case.

"Where'd you get that necklace, Y/N? Your mother?" Dad asked, skeptically observing the piece of red quartz around my neck. I wrapped my fingers around the pendant. "I got it from Hoseok. Yesterday." It wasn't really a lie.

"Fair enough! I'll tell them you need a few minutes," he said. He shut the door after him, muffling the sound of the boys. I sighed, standing up to get dressed.

It was a cold, grey day, and I looked for the clothes that would hide me the most. I needed something that wouldn't make me too obvious, because I was not going to be around them.

Choosing the most anonymous clothing I could find -a grey hoodie and plain jeans- I put the hood over my head. my hair. Pasting a sticky note to my door, I scribbled down see you later, suckers. Can't help but pick at them, can you?

Shoes and phone in hand, I slipped out of the window. I struggled to keep myself at the top of the slanted roof, but I somehow got my shoes on.

As quickly as I could, I slid to the side of the roof. From there, it was easy to jump into the tree behind the garage.

I climbed down the branches as silently as I could, dropping to the ground before bolting around the house. I was about to run off in the wrong direction, but when I collected my thoughts, I hurried toward the graveyard.

After crossing the road a few times and jogging through a park, I was there. At first, I thought there wasn't anybody present - but then I saw a single figure in the distance. It could've been one of them, for sure - but why would only one of them be visible? It didn't make sense, so I walked calmly to my destination.

Is Hoseok going to lead them here? Probably.

I realized as I approached that the person - a man in a leather jacket- was standing by the grave of my mother. He was writing something into a notebook, looking at the black headstone.

"E-Excuse me?" I asked, my hands clenching. He raised his silver head, turning elegantly around to look at me. I couldn't look very impressive, dressed in a hoodie compared to his attire, but I straightened my back. Still, he had to be at least ten to fifteen centimeters higher than me.

"Yes?" he asked, in a soft tone. I looked to the grave just as he ran a hand through his straight hair. I directed my eyes back up to him, and noticed that his ears were pierced. There was a small ring in each lobe, shimmering like the moon.

"Did you know my mother? This is her grave, so..."

I swore something glinted in his dark eyes, but it was gone as soon as it came. "Really? I'm sorry, I'll leave if you want me to," he said, pocketing the notebook and pen as he turned to leave.

Stepping forward, I reached out for him without thinking. "Wait! Wait, I didn't mean it like that. You can stay. Just... Tell me how you know her." He turned, and the medallion around his neck reflected in the sun. Pain shot through heart upon seeing what it was.

I stepped forward, placing my fingers on the silver pendant. The boy reacted immediately by grabbing my wrist, twisting my hand upwards, and stepping back. "Just what do you think you're doing?" He sounded playful, not angry.
