A WEEK LATER
"What are you doing?"
Jungkook was sitting cross-legged on his bed, eyes closed as he was tuning a guitar.
"Hey, huntress," he said, opening his eyes to look at me. "Just... trying something out. I haven't done this for a while."
I swallowed. "Can I listen?" He looked delighted, nodding. "Sure!"
"I thought you'd... I don't know, be angry," I said, entering his room. It smelled so familiar I wanted to dive into the sheets and curl up underneath them.
"Angry? No, huntress. It... it was my fault."
I blinked. Is Jungkook admitting to a mistake?
"If you tell anyone I said that, I'll kill you," he said, in typical Jungkook fashion. "Now you're back to normal," I mumbled, walking over to his bed.
He patted the area next to him, and I sat down. To my surprise, he handed me the guitar. "Weren't you going to play?" I asked, confused.
"Hoseok told me you took lessons when you were younger." Something twinged in my chest. "I did, but that's almost...what, ten years ago? I can hardly remember anything of it."
I pulled the sleeves up past my wrists, holding the guitar in the proper position. Sighing, I tried to remember anything I'd learned.
"Okay, do you know Leaving on a Jet Plane?" I looked up at him, and he nodded. "So... here goes." I inhaled deeply, placing my hand in a G chord position.
I started playing the intro.
Jungkook sat and listened to me. I hardly listened to what I was playing, all I could feel was Jungkook's eyes on me. I looked down at the guitar in silence, almost wanting to squirm under Jungkook's gaze.
So kiss me, and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
I'm leaving on a jetplane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to goWhen I was done, my hands left the strings. I handed the guitar back to him, but he passed it on the area next to him.
"That was good, huntress," he said, smiling a smile that presented his teeth. His fangs were pearly white, sharp and gleaming against the light.
Then my eyes traveled to his lips, noticing the uneven tilt of them. They were soft, pink and slightly moist. Unlike him, they were delicate.
No, Y/N, you can't. It would be wrong, you're supposed to like Jimin.
"Huntress?" he asked, his voice sounding exactly like it had that night. My spine tingled at the thought of him that close to me, teeth pressed against the skin of my throat as he was tempted to break it.
I hummed in response, knowing my voice wouldn't be able to from the words I wanted to say. His eyes were dark brown, almost black in colour, and I wanted to cry. He looked so human, so mortal, so incredibly normal, but he wasn't at all.
He was a vampire. He was someone I was supposed to hate, somebody I was supposed to detest with all my heart.
But he was Jungkook, too.
"Can I..."
"What?" I knew what he wanted, I just longed to hear him say those words my body ached for.
