I was released from the hospital late that night.

Hoseok, Jimin and Jungkook remained at the hospital with me, sneaking me blood in diskrete metal bottles. Dad agreed to leaving me alone for a while, meaning I could drink as much of it as I wanted without worrying about him. He had noticed the tattoo, but said nothing, just gave me an understanding look.

"Jimin?" I asked, He immediately turned alert. "What do you need?" I laughed. "Nothing. I was just wondering about something." Remembering Jungkook's words from earlier, I quickly added "You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"Should I leave for this?" Hoseok asked from the door, a can of my favorite soda in his hand. "No, I think you can stay," Jimin said, and Hoseok approached. Jungkook lurked in behind him, taking a seat on one of the other chairs. He pulled the hood of his hoodie further over his head, scrolling through his phone.

Putting the soda down on the table next to the bed, Hoseok sat down next to Jungkook. Taking this chance to ask Jimin, I hoped he wouldn't act up if it offended him. Why would it anyway?

"When I called you, you just showed up. How did you do that? Can vampires teleport or something?" Jimin seemed humored, but Jungkook scoffed. "Don't say that word here, huntress."

"Right. Well, anyway, that's a bit complicated. It's something only a few vampires - sorry, Jungkook, I mean people like us, can. You remember I asked you to open your window?" I nodded.

"Jungkook and I have a special... ability, if you will. I think he can explain better, he uses it more than me." Jimin gesticulated to Jungkook, who nodded. "Huntress, you remember that I visited you yesterday?"

I nodded again. "Well, it's a bit difficult to explain, but some of us have the ability to temporarily shapeshift. None of us are quite sure why, but the first recorded case was of Dracula. Birds are nothing in comparison to a wolf, but you get the idea."

"So you're a crow!" The crow skull tattoo he just taken on a new meaning. "And what's Jimin? I'm assuming some kind of bird, but... I don't know." Jimin smiled. "I'm a dove." It seemed oddly fitting for him to be a symbol of peace.

"Can I become an animal too? Now that Jungkook and I share powers?" Less enthusiasm, Y/N. Jungkook thought about it. "I don't think so. I've never met a shapeshifter with a Guarded that could."

Oh. "Uh, anyway, Jungkook, I'm going to need a detailed list over how your power works." I wasn't going to lie, the thought of using magical powers seemed pretty cool. As long as I didn't have to kill people.

"Tomorrow," Jungkook promised. "Right now, I'd suggest you try to get some rest. The sooner you get out of this place, the better." I couldn't help but agree with him, but at the same time, I wasn't sure how I'd sleep with all this new information.

"I don't know if I can..." I mumbled, and Jungkook's eyes lit up. "Let me give you a little lesson in magic. There's to types, death and blood, more commonly known as necromancy and hemomancy. Yoongi hyung, Hoseok hyung and I are necromancers, and the rest are hemomancers."

I raised an eyebrow. "And what am I supposed to do with this?" Hoseok clicked his tongue. "Manners, Y/N," he said, and I rolled my eyes. It was typical Hoseok to correct me at the most inappropriate times, but I didn't really mind. "Yeah yeah, Hobi."

"We can temporarily slow down or disable a part of the body. That's how I managed to ruin your vocal cords. And, surprise, your brain is also a part of your body, so..." I He paused for a second. "If you want it, it can happen."

"So you can make me fall asleep?" I felt puzzled by this. He nodded. "In essence, yes."

I typically stayed up for almost an hour most nights, struggling to fall asleep. "You can come over every night from now on, Jungkook, because that's amazing. Can you try it on me now?" Jungkook didn't show it, but I thought he was happy that I'd paid him a compliment.
