I woke up with a gasp.

I patted the area around me as I looked around, trying to get some sense of where I was - but it was completely dark. However, I could make out three cracks of light, outlining a door.

"Hello?" I whispered as I reached out to my left. I screeched as I touched something warm and compact, immediately retracting off the bed only to fall off. The loud thump seemed to attract whoever else was in the house, because the door opened and filled the bedroom with light.

I covered my eyes with my hand, wincing at the sudden brightness. "Y/N! You're awake!" Hoseok exclaimed, stepping over to me, I heard the sound of multiple footsteps closing in on me. Cracking one eye open, I saw that Hoseok was still in his outfit from the party. Not that much time could've passed.

"Where's Jungkook?" My eyes widened, the image of his chest being penetrated still fresh in my mind. Hoseok helped me to my feet, and I looked to the other side of the bed to see what had scared me so much.

Jungkook.

His hands were folded on his stomach, eyes shut as his chest rose and fell. A few seconds passed as we just... looked at him. My heart had launched into space, spread its wings and flown around in circles.

He's alive. He's alive. He's actually alive.

His eyes opened slowly, fluttering a little. "Jungkook!" I threw myself at him immediately, legs halfway across his waist, arms wrapping tightly around his shoulders. "Wh- Ugh, huntress!" Jungkook protested, flopping like a fish beneath me.

I didn't like him. I had never liked him, and I would never like him, but something about seeing him die made an impression on me. I didn't think much of the permanently butthurt vampire, but I wanted him to live.

Jungkook sat up and -to my surprise- didn't push me away. "Why did you have to go and do that? It was so stupid! You're so stupid!" I shouted, leaning away from him. My eyes were overflowing with tears, and my ears were hurting from my own yells.

But I heard it.

A low sniffle.

"Jungkook? What's wrong?" I asked, my own panic-tinted relief forgotten as I saw that his cheeks shone with tears. "Why are you crying?" His dark eyes shone with accusation.

"It's your fault," he said with a shaky voice, pulling himself backward with me still on his lap-

I was on his lap.

I could feel his muscles, warm and soft. I sank into his thighs, blushing at how they moved beneath me as he leaned back against the headboard. Oh no. Oh no. I scuttled off, sitting with closed legs next to him.

He sniffled again, not paying attention to my embarrassment. The vampire pulled up the sleeve of his shirt to observe his arm, and I moved so he'd see better.

A black tattoo stood proudly against the pale skin, portraying the spear from a thousand years ago. Five circles were engraved into the skin around the shaft, making it look strangely magical.

Before I could say anything, Jungkook reached over my lap to pick up my arm, and studied it with sharp eyes. Sure enough; a tattoo in the shape of an elegant crow's skull was there, etched into the surface of my arm.

I looked at Jungkook with a horrified expression. Dad was never going to forgive me for getting a tattoo, especially not at a party. And a skull? Dad and I both knew I would never choose that.

"Can I get this removed?" I asked, holding up my arm as I twisted to look at the others. They all had their eyebrows raised. "...why? It's a great honor to get a brand like this from a vampire." Yoongi sounded confused.
