"Ah, Y/N! Hoseok told me you were staying over at his place tonight, " Dad said, looking up from his computer as I entered the living room. I sighed. "I thought you weren't going to stay up late tonight."
He shrugged. "Well, I figured you weren't going to be here to keep me to it."
I smiled. "Then I suggest you go to sleep soon, daddy dearest."
"Good night, Y/N," he sung, and I chuckled.
I had to hurry so that he wouldn't see my new tattoo. He barely noticed details, though; he focused too much on his work, never took a break, and I couldn't help but feel a little guilty for it. He was working so hard while I had no job. Dad had to support the both of us.Closing the door behind me, I sunk down on the ground, back to the wall as I placed my head in my hands. I was tired, sweaty, and so done with literally everything that had to do with vampirism. Even the word gave me chills.
I collapsed further into despair when I realized I would have to confront dad about it. Either to ask why he never told me that mom was a vampire hunter, or tell him that what was probably the love of his life wasn't who he thought.
Of course, I didn't know what to do. I was tied to Jungkook, which in turn made me tied to all the others. The necklace felt like a chain around my neck, and I wondered if Jungkook felt the same way.
A part of me felt surprised when I realised that every one of my thoughts was traced back to him. Being forced to adjust to a new person so quickly wasn't something I was used to, especially after a night like this.
And that person being a vampire made it even weirder.
My mind was swirling with him. Jungkook, Jungkook, Jungkook. Everywhere I turned in my mind-palace, there he was, casually picking at his nails while not even acknowledging my presence.
I didn't know if I hated them or not. I sipped at one of the containers as I paced back and forth in my room, trying to make sense of it all. On the positive side, I'd get to spend more time with Hoseok. And Jimin.
On the negative? I was tied to some crazy vampire with a magic necklace, my arms were flashlights and my entire family legacy was a lie.
Just as I sat down on my bed, there came a sharp knock from my window. There was nothing but utter darkness outside. I assumed I'd heard wrong, and looked away. However, another knock followed the first, and I knew I'd heard correctly this time.
I opened it, albeit hesitantly. A whirlwind of black feathers brushed over my face, and I let out a strained Ah! as I tried to push it away. When it was gone, I could see that it was black bird -presumably a very dark crow- that had decided to pay me a visit.
Too tired to try to make it fly back out, I sat back down on my bed. It was a pretty animal, perched on my nightstand with its wings folded.
"Great," I sighed, laying down completely. The crow cawed, and I glanced over at it. "What?"
It tilted its head at me. I laughed, covering my eyes with my arm. "I'm really going crazy. I'm delusional, and you're a bird."
"Bird?" I sat up. To my surprise, Jungkook was standing there, against the window. His arms were crossed, and there was an annoyingly sleazy smirk on his face. Intimidating, even in sweats.
"How d-did you... How long have you been standing there? H-Hold on, were you that bird?" I stammered. "And why are you in my room? You're n-not going to kill me, right?"
Jungkook wandered from the window to the bed, throwing himself down on the mattress. I got up straight away, standing at a relatively safe distance from home.
