"What the hell does that mean?" I demanded. "How do you know who I am?"

I longed to lash out at his face, but it would only bring me closer to death. I was going to die, and it was going to be at the hands of this man.

The tip of his tongue ran over his teeth, lips twisting into a sinister smirk. "I made a promise to your family a very long time ago." Jungkook leaned closer until I could feel his breath on my face.

With a voice so low I could barely hear it myself, I whispered, "And what was that promise?" I peered down for just a fraction of a second, but it was clear that his hand had begun to move upwards. Get ready to do something.

"That I would end your entire lineage," he hissed, hand shooting up. He had the look of an experienced killer in his eyes, and I knew this would be the end if I didn't act. So, instead of being taken by surprise, I was prepared, and waited until his hand touched my throat before pulling away with all my might.

That, at least for a moment, made him lose his balance. I internally celebrated the fact that at least he wasn't inhumanly superior at everything, and ran, praying that Taehyung hadn't gotten far.

I ran down the corridor, almost reaching the landing, but came to a screeching halt when I saw the recognizable collection of men walking up the stairs. Every other guest in the house was streaming to the front door, music gone.

They were only at the bottom steps, but my heavy breaths and sprinting notified them of my approach.

"Oh, Y/N," Jin sighed, looking up at me.

Whatever else he might've said was lost on me, because I spun on my heel and bolted down another corridor. The footsteps turned louder, beating against the carpeted floors before I ripped a door open and threw myself inside.

It was a bathroom, and I quickly locked the door before looking around for a window. The tiles were a cream colour, and the countertop of the sink were a brilliant white, as well as the toilet and bathtub. It was surprisingly big, but even so - no window.

I backed away from the door, pressing my back against the wall on the opposite side of the bathroom. Just a few seconds later, someone started banging on it, obviously wanting to enter. I had no plans of opening up, even though I doubted the door would hold for long.

"Y/N! Open up!" Taehyung demanded.

I couldn't help it; I was crying. "What do you want from me?! Just leave me alone!" I felt so betrayed. Did my own best friend -definitely ex-best friend now- really choose monsters over me?

One thing was clear, though. No one was coming to save me.

A loud thump woke me up after some time. I couldn't remember falling asleep at all, and I had no idea what the time was. Instinctively, I looked for my bag, but remembered quickly that I'd lost it when I fell. No phone. Nothing.

I blinked a couple of times, then looked around in an attempt to locate the noise. There were still lights on in the hallway, creeping under the door. It was interrupted by a large shadow, definitely a person's.

I was surprised the door was still standing.

"Hello?" I whispered. No matter how stupid it seemed to attempt a discussion, I walked over to the door, sinking to my knees before it to try and hear a potential reply better. A few moments passed, but I received an answer.

"Y/N?"

Hoseok sounded broken. Maybe he was tired, but there was another indescribable aspect to his voice that made it sound like he had given up. "Why are you here?" I asked.
