we made our way down to the ground landing the horses just behind us. Where we once again we mounted our own horses and rode into the great lively kingdom that was awake and bustling people stopping to bow to us as we rode in through the gates heading for the main square surrounded by the large castle.
It's walls feeling as if I was being welcomed the large gates opening wide to all of us allowing us into the main square where guards ran out to meet us taking our steeds to the royal stables to be cared for by the stable boys.
After our horses were taken we made our way up the stairs to the castle the large gates guarded by two tall men adorn in the Kingdoms colors which were black and red. Just by catching a glance at me they opened the large doors as quickly as possible bowing low letting us pass through.
"Prince Trystan you have returned" said a cheerful maid who curtsied deeply before racing off to tell the others of my arrival back at the castle guards escorting me and my followers to the throne room where my father sat on his large red and gold throne.
"My son you have returned to me" he said standing and coming to great me and I smiled and took his embrace with a warmed heart.
"Come we must celebrate you and your friends I will have rooms ready for them in a moment as for now you must all wash up and be dressed for the occasion come let us take care of you all after your long journey we will rejoice for many days with great feasts, drink, and music!" he exclaimed as he let the maids take us to be tended to dressing us and bathing us followed by a meal and a nice warm rooms and fluffed goose down pillows.
When I got back to my room and was left alone for the night I smiled, in laying back on then bed letting sleep take me from the long day and the journey I had begun and finished among friends this was the first time I had seen a bed in years and I was not going to pass up the offer falling asleep beneath the covers.
When the maids bustled in to wake me from sleep I had already been up for a few hours. I had dressed myself for I was no child, though I may have been raised in a castle I knew better than to let others dress me.
When the maids came in I was sitting on the balcony enjoying the morning watching the sun slowly creep over the walls and chase the darkness from the street of the lower town and moving slowly down the castle towers.
"Sire your father requests you in the throne room" Said a maid I had known all my life.
"very well I'll be right down then thank you Katiline" I said getting up from my seat but lingering a while longer.
"Sire the sun is not going to run away" she giggled as she came to join me on the balcony.
"It is beautiful though watching the sun rise on the Kingdom" she said softly without thinking taking my arm and holding it to her chest as we stood there.
"I missed you Katiline" I said softly before gently moving my arm out of her grasp and moving to head to the throne room thus ending our moment for my father wouldn't wait for me forever before his temper got the better of him though as I walked down the hall memories flashed through my mind a smile spreading across my face as I made my way to the throne room.
When I got to the large doors that were opened by the guards that stood there I walked in taking a knee before the large thrones that stood on a high raised platform in front of me "father you asked for me" I said softly rising from my bow of respect.
"yes I did my dear boy we must start the celebrations you always did love a good festival" He said with a smile.
"your organizing a festival!" I said my spirits lifting higher than before.
"yes I am we have gotten word out to the knights of the rhelm there is to be a great joust in your name as well as other festivities the people long for a festival there has not been one since that faithful day when you left Linshengure" he explained to me as we went to stand at the window preparations being made for the festivals.
"Father it's perfect" I said as I watched a while longer.
"come my son we have much to do and time to do so" He said as we walked off to make our own preparations the village people getting an idea of what was to happen being called together for the royal decree that the festival was officially begun.
People gathered in the main square chatting and smiling as they often did life here being easy with little to worry about having plenty that was always enough for them as long as there was food on their table and family in their home they were content having nothing to fear or deal with as fast as they were concerned and a festival always brought good fortune.
Father and I walked out onto the balcony above the square and the people bowed to us as was required. "People of Linshengure your prince has returned!" he started throwing his arms into the air the people cheering.
"For this we will throw a festival for three days time with a great many things Linshengure has not seen in many a moon come let us rejoice!" he said the crowd of people muttering and cheering among themselves before being dismissed and rushing home to gather things.
The baker hurried to make fresh pastries for the festival and the farmers brought crops fresh from the fields, while many others just enjoyed the day knights pouring in from all the kingdoms invited to Lishengure.
