After a long days ride of uneventful steady moving we stopped near a river bank letting our horses drink, picking at the grasses they found. we let them be for a while before we took them from the waters edge and removing the gear from their backs. We then set up a temporary camp which was just a small fire with food and our bed rolls.
"Trystan why did we have to ride so far I'm sore" Joseline complained as she sat down on her roll.
"you're sore think about how the steeds feel they did all the work unless perhaps you would like to walk" I said with a small hint of annoyance in my voice.
"well..Fine! be that way" she shouted then laid down on her bed roll covering up her whole body as if she could disappear her dragon crawling into the covers with her.
"well someone is in a mood" Darius joked as he walked over having gone to get some more wood for the fire.
"Tis' not her fault nor yours Trystan" Matildia said before crawling beneath her covers and curling up with her dragon Darius doing the same, but I stayed up keeping watch looking at my dragon when suddenly he grew.
"Hmm I thought you guys were growing quickly" I muttered before letting sleep take me through series of dreams one in which haunted me through the night.
When I woke it was light out the sun deciding to creep across the horizon bringing the call of the morning birds and the call of sleep to the things that crawled and skittered in the night. Although something was different from the night before to now instead of small dragons there were four fully grown dragons.
"hey guys you got to see this" I said to them each of our dragons fully armored such as a human knight would wear armor though the people who had armored the dragons were still in sight
"who are they?" Darius asked from behind me.
"I'm not sure Darius" I said back before I took my time walking closer to the other camp "hello?" I called out before concluding there was no one there just a camp with four armor stands.
"This is odd perhaps they have gone hunting?" Matilida suggested before shrugging and going to look at a stand.
"It is a beautifully crafted I wonder who made all of this" She said a low voice from behind us responded.
"the people who made this armor have not gone hunting we are behind you" when we turned around we saw a group of men that were well built and fully armed.
"we meant no harm to your work we were merely looking at it" Joseline said softly giving a small bow of her head in respect the men breaking out into laughter.
"they have no clue about the prophecy" the leader said.
"I am drumorid this is Lucindor my brother and Kasha my sister we come from the Kingdom of Lishengure"
"It's a pleasure to meet you but why have you come all this way Lishengure is at least a four days hard ride to Kalunia" I said as I looked at Drumorid.
"yes, but it's come to the time in your journey that you learn what you are truly capable of" he said the camp seeming to fold itself up with a single movement of his hand our camp doing the same.
"how did you do that?" I asked as my dragon moved behind me and spoke.
"It is magic Trystan perhaps if you let the men speak you would already know" Amazed I looked at the dragon as our horses were rounded up by Kasha.
"what are you doing with our steeds and our gear?" all Lucindor did was raise a hand for silence "you talk to much Trystan."
"you have dragons you have no need for steeds" Drumorid responded as he got onto a horse of his own
"I don't know about them but I would prefer my horse I have no clue how to ride a dragon" Darius objected as he took a step towards his horse.
"Then it't time to learn" kasha replied as she urged the horses onward the four of us looking at each other then to the dragons we now had to figure out how to ride.
