Luka wasn't sure how long he had been sitting in Clary's all apartment. But he had calmed down. His anger fading, leaving him exhausted and numb. There were more holes in the walls then when he got there and he hadn't realized that he had made them until he saw the blood running down his hands. He felt the familiar sting and he loved it, He loved how the pain stopped the memories. He loved how it made him forget the day everything went wrong. He loved how it inflict on him what he had inflicted on the one he loved. It was a drug and Luka was unbelievably addicted. He closed his eyes, getting lost in the feeling, allowing himself to forget, even if only for a moment.

Meanwhile, Alec and Clary had just finished a quick sparing match before the older shadowhunte's phone rang. "Hello? Who is this?" He asked as he answered, "Alexander. Hi. It's Magnus, we met the other day. You know, with the demon." Magnus's voice replied from the other side. "Uh, yeah... Yeah, hey, what's up?" Alec asked. He heard a sigh of frustration, "You wouldn't of happened to see my dear brother would you? He was suppose to be on bed rest as his injuries have yet to completely heal. And I'm worried. He's already run into the circle once when he was on his own." Alec's breath caught in his throat for a moment. He thought back to when he and the downerworlder had trained together. The pained expression on Luka's face whenever his side was hit. The slight limp he had after. Alec cured under his breath, he should have noticed sooner. "He was here earlier, but left after he fought with my mother." Alec replied honestly, receiving another sigh. "Of coarse... and he's using his magic to stop me from tracking him too." Alec turned around, only to find Clary gone, "Uh... I'm going to have to call you back. If I see Luka, I'll let him know you called." Without letting the warlock reply, Alec hung up and began his search for Clary, hoping Luka would be okay.

Luka sat there, his breathing slow. Still focused on the pain and nothing else, at least until two familiar voices called out. "Luka!" The downworlder opened his silver eyes and sighed as he saw Clary, Simon and Alec. The mundane and red haired girl were quick to reach his side, both pulling the downworlder into an embrace. Luka took a deep breath, notice something about Simon's sent was off. This brought him back to reality, "So, heard you had a run in with some vampires. You wouldn't have run into anyone named Camille? Or Raphael for that matter?" Simon looked shocked, but still he nodded, "Yeah... Wait how do you know about all of this?" He gestured to Alec and Clary, then around the remains of the building. "Well, I'm part warlock, part werewolf and-- You know what that doesn't matter right now." The downworlder turned to the shadowhunters and narrowed his eyes, "What are you two doing here? I highly doubt Mrs 'Law above all' wouldn't have let you come here."

Alec sighed, ignoring Luka's comment on his mother, "She decided to sneak out after we had been told to remain at the institute, I followed her to try and bring her back." Luka breathed out a laugh and looked at Alec, slowly standing, "One, I believe I warned you to keep an eye on Red at all times or this could happen." Alec's face turned slightly red, mumbling something about 'Magnus called looking for you', as Luka continued, "And two, that doesn't tell me why your here." He gestured to the broken home around them. Clary stood up, followed by Simon, "We're looking for something my mum had. A box. I think it might be connected to Valentine." Luka looked at the red head confused. He doubt Jocelyn kept anything tied to that monster around, but nodded anyway. As Simon and Clary continued to head towards the redhead's old room, Alec noticed Luka's hands. His eyes going wide as he saw the drops of blood falling to the ground. As the downworlder went to take a step forward Alec grabbed his arm.

Luka spun around as Alec studied his bleeding knuckles. "When did this happen...?" Luka sighed, looking towards the multiple holes in the wall. Alec's gaze followed the downworld. His breath getting caught in his throat as he realized Luka had done this to himself. "Why?" Was all Alec could say. He was shock that the almost emotionless and somewhat level headed downworlder could hurt himself like this. Luka pulled his hands away, sticking them in his pockets, "It helps me forget." He answered simply, "And it means that I suffer just as I made them suffer." Alec looked at the downworlder's face, silver eyes swimming with so many emotions, another broken smile on his pale lips. "You shouldn't have to suffer..." The shadowhunter mumbled, not expecting Luka to hear, but he did and he laughed, looking back down at Alec. "You shouldn't worry about me, Angel. Especially if you're anything like your mother." Alec looked up, his hazel eyes asking the question he did have words to ask. "The Clave wants me dead, Alexander." Luka's voice turned serious, his expression stoic, "They just don't have any way to justify my death. If I slip up, they will come after me. So, if 'The law is the law' as you love to say so much, it's best you stop caring now, because I know it won't be long until the Clave pins something on me in order to cover up their own mistake."

Luka's small smile returned as he grabbed Alec's hand, "But, for now, we should make sure Clary and Simon don't get into trouble, like they both seem prone to doing." The downworlder began to walk with Alec walk slightly behind, their hands loosely holding the other's. The shadowhunter thought about Luka's words, ignoring the fact that as he did, his grip tightened on the young warlock's pale hand, seeming as though he never wanted to let go.
