"I...I see you. I'm coming. Stay there."
Max said as she ended the call, fumbling around attempting to get her backpack from underneath her bed.
My arm dropped as I put my phone back in my pocket, continuing to wipe away my quiet tears.
I soon saw her exit out of her front door quietly.
She rushed over to me, immediately embracing me.
I heard her words beside my ear,
"Is this what we want?"
I breathed heavily, swallowing back the tears.
"Yes."

We walked down the paved road, side by side.
We made our way to the nearest train station.
The bright yellow streetlights flickered on and off as we walked passed them.
After three silent minutes, she then broke the silence and spoke up.
"Do you miss them?"
