"Do you realise what your little stunt this morning has done?", Sam would be angry telling Beca about what happened this morning with her running to a phone store.

"I know I know", Beca would roll her eyes as she'd be listening a little to the news channel playing on the TV behind Sam.

"Beca.. you ran three blocks from your hotel room in no shoes while fans chased you!", he'd shout now making her look and give her full attention to him. "The amount of pictures and videos of you running through the street is ridiculous.. I've had Angela on the phone to me non-stop"

Beca would roll her eyes again at the sound of her publicist's name, knowing that the woman was never happy with anything Beca did. "I'm sorry Sam, okay?", she'd glance back at the screen doing a double take as she'd see a picture of an old friend from back home.

"I'll sort it okay. We're leaving in a couple of hours", Sam would press his phone to his ear as he'd then walk out and leave the room. Beca would quickly grab the remote turning the volume up as she'd listen to the news report.

"A young man in his late twenties has died today in a car crash that took place on the main road leading into his small hometown. There have been no details yet as to what exactly happened but it is thought that a drunk driver was involved..."

Beca would begin to zone out as she'd fall back in her seat still looking at the TV as it would show an aerial shot of the wreckage with a picture of Luke smiling next to Stacie with his arm around her shoulder next to it.

"...A funeral for the beloved local is being held at the town's church tomorrow where most if not all of the town will be out to support his family and friends..."

Beca would listen to the last part of the news report before quickly looking for her phone, dialling the number of her driver.

"Jack.. Hey I need you to bring my car round to the front of the hotel as soon as possible", she'd be running around the room now grabbing some shoes now to put on and a hoodie before leaving the room.

...

Two hours later Beca would be sat in the back of the black out car as it would pull up a short distance from the church. She'd look out of the window watching people walk up the steps and hug Stacie along with Luke's parents before they'd all walk inside the church.

"You have no clue where I am Jack", she'd hand him a hundred dollar bill from over his shoulder before getting out of the car.

"You got it boss", he'd mumble back to her as the front window would be rolled down so he could speak to her. "You've got my number if you need it"

"Thanks Jack", she'd smile a little at him before watching him drive off. Putting one hand in her jeans pocket and holding a duffel bag that she'd sling over her shoulder.

She'd slowly walk over to the front of the church, walking up the steps now as she'd put her bag to the side of the door, out of sight. "Come on buddy, we're going to be late", she'd feel someone briefly brush her shoulder, turning round now to be met with a pair of blue eyes she thought she'd never see again in her lifetime. "I'm sorry I-", Chloe would freeze as she'd look back at Beca now who didn't know what to say.

Chloe would quickly drag the little boy into the church with her. Beca not taking her eyes off her the whole time as she'd watch her take a seat next to Jesse, Chloe's older brother.

Jesse would glance down at Chloe next to him, furrowing his eyebrows as he'd notice her staring into space. "Are you alright?", he'd ask her quietly as the funeral would begin.

"She's here", Chloe would gulp nervously looking back up at her older brother who's jaw would instantly tense. She'd watch him as his head would turn to look over his shoulder at Beca who was still stood at the entrance of the church.

Beca would look away from Chloe now as she'd notice Jesse turn his head to look at her. She'd listen to the start of the ceremony as she'd sit down on the steps, watching the minister speak to everyone.

Before the funeral ceremony inside the church would finish, Beca would make her way over towards the cemetery. She'd wait by a large oak tree, a small distance away so no one would notice her but she could still watch.

She'd sigh as she'd watch the coffin be lowered into the ground, noticing people crying before walking away. Beca's breathing would hitch again as she'd watch Chloe begin to walk away holding the hand of the little boy again.

Chloe would freeze again as she'd look up to see Beca leaning against the tree. "Would you take him with you?", she'd let go of the boy's hand.

"Chloe, just leave it-", Jesse would try and stop her as he'd take the young boy's hand.

"Just take him, please", she'd plead before walking away from them both. She'd feel the anger building inside her as she'd notice Beca moving from off the tree to take a few stops towards her.

Without giving either of them a chance to say anything, she'd slap Beca as hard as she could across her cheek, feeling the tears brimming but trying to show that she was strong and not affected. "You need to leave", she'd mumble before storming off in the direction everyone else had gone.

Beca would rub her cheek in pain as she'd watch the redhead walk away from her, then noticing the minister walking over to her. She'd sling her duffel bag over her shoulder again as the older man would reach her.

"Beca..", he'd speak softly looking at the red mark now on her cheek.

Beca would sigh and put her hand on his shoulder, "Hey Dad", she'd smile a little before walking off with him to his car.

...

"Sam I'm sorry okay?", Beca would be sat on the little bench on the front porch of her childhood house. Her Dad was inside making breakfast the next morning, while Beca was receiving a telling off from her manager.

"Beca I don't think you understand", she'd roll her eyes again as she'd put her hand through her hair, "You skipped out a whole show! We had to cancel the show and refund the tickets and all that other stuff because you've run off somewhere", he'd continue to bark down the phone. "Where have you gone anyway?"

Sighing she'd speak back slowly, "An old friend from where I grew up died so I've come home", she'd pause as she'd wait for his reaction. While speaking to him she'd look across the front garden in front of the house, noticing that the part where flowers were grown looked like it hadn't been touched in years.

"Shit", she'd hear Sam mumble before he'd speak normally, "I'm sorry Beca, you uhm.. you just take all the time you need and I'll uhh.. I'll sort everything out here! I won't tell anyone where you are I'll figure something out"

"Thanks Sam", she'd smile a little back. "Oh hey uhm.. Where are my credit cards?", she'd stand up now putting her free hand in her pocket.

"I have them, why?", he'd ask her.

"Well I wanna buy some things like a car for while I'm here and-", she'd start to explain.

"Okay, okay look.. I'll sort it out and send them over to you just text me the address"

"You're the best Sammy", she'd smirk now before saying goodbye and hanging up.
