A MONTH LATER
A group of friends including Beca, Chloe, Jesse, Aubrey, Stacie, Fat Amy, Bumper, Benji and his new girlfriend Emily and Joe would be hanging out on the beach after having a BBQ.
Since Beca has come home and got back together with Chloe she has tried to rebuild her friendship with Jesse. It took a long time for Jesse to fully forgive the singer for leaving his sister and nephew twice but eventually he could see how happy Chloe was that Beca was back and so he started to warm up to her.
Grabbing herself another beer Beca would look around her group of friends seeing them all laughing and smiling with each other. She smiled to herself as she finally felt happy and realised that all she needed to be happy all this time was Chloe.
She'd let her gaze fall on the redhead who was sat with Aubrey and Jesse looking at pictures on Jesse's phone. Behind them she'd notice Stacie by herself walking towards the small pier at the end of the beach.
Feeling like there was something wrong the brunette would make her way over to Stacie to join her on the pier. "Hey legs, you okay?", she'd smirk at her nickname for Stacie as she'd sit down next to her, swinging her legs over the end as she'd look out at the sea.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine", Stacie would avoid looking at Beca as she'd stare out at the water in front of her.
"Coming from someone who has used those exact words for the past 8 years I know that you're not fine", Beca would sip her beer before putting it down next to her. "You thinking about him?"
Beca would hear her sniff and then look over to see Stacie nod her head and raise her hand to wipe away a tear that had slid down her face. "He would of loved this", she'd smile a little before glancing over at Beca, "he'd be so excited that you was back as well", she'd smirk as she'd nudge Beca now.
Beca would smile and sigh deeply as she'd start to think about one of her best friends that passed away. "You know, I recently wrote a song for Luke but I've decided to not release it because I want to keep it personal", the singer would start to absentmindedly play with her fingers in her lap. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here Stacie", she'd look down at her lap now, feeling guilty.
"Hey", Stacie would smile as she'd put her hand on Beca's shoulder to make her look back up. "None of us knew that that would happen on that day but what matters is you are here now", she'd smile before pulling the brunette in for a hug. "I missed my best friend", she'd mumble in the crook of Beca's neck.
"I missed you too Stace", Beca would smile as she'd squeeze her a little tighter.
"Would you sing me the song you wrote about him?", the two girls would stand up now to walk back over to the pier.
"Do you want me to?", Beca would sip from her beer again as they'd get closer to their group of friends.
"Mmhmm.. I think he'd want to here it too", Stacie would wink as they'd reach everyone else that was sat together talking and laughing.
"Okay then, sure", Beca would sip some more of her drink before putting it down in the sand next to where Chloe was sat. She'd walk over to pick up her guitar as everyone would continue talking.
As she'd sit down and start softly strumming some chords to tune the guitar, some people started to look round to see what was going on. Beca would glance up to see Stacie smiling back at her, causing her to smile softly back as she'd clear her throat.
When I got the news today
I didn't know what to say
So I just hung up the phone, Beca would keep her eyes closed as she'd hear the conversations around her stop,
