Walking back inside after speaking to Sam, Beca would join her Dad in the kitchen where he was sitting at the small table with a cup of coffee and some toast. "Morning", she'd mumble and avoid eye contact as she'd walk over to the coffee machine, pouring herself some.

"Good morning", he'd keep his eyes focused on the paper he was reading. Glancing up at his daughter as he'd hear her groan, then seeing her pulling a face before pouring the coffee down the sink.

"I think you need a new coffee machine Dad", Beca would mumble as she'd sit down opposite him.

"Well we don't all have the money to just buy what we want", he'd continue to read the paper, sipping his own coffee now.

"Dad.. it's a coffee machine", she'd raise an eyebrow at him, "Not like you're splashing money out on a car", she'd smirk. "Speaking of can I borrow the truck today?", she'd watch him lower the paper now to properly look at her.

"Sorry, I left it by the church because it broke down yesterday", he'd finish his coffee now before continuing. "I think your old bike is still in the garage though, you can use that", he'd pat her on the shoulder, smirking at her as he'd walk out of the room.

"Brilliant", she'd sigh and roll her eyes before grabbing the leftover piece of toast from her Dad's plate and then walking out to the garage to fetch her old bike from high school.

...

Walking toward the till, holding onto her bottle of whiskey, Beca would notice a row of magazines all with pictures and headlines about her disappearance on the front page. She'd turn them all over so they weren't on show before placing the bottle down at the till. "We have more in the back", the girl behind the till would take the bottle to scan.

"What?", Beca would look over at her now as she'd take out some cash.

"Magazines with your face on them", she'd show a sarcastic smile to Beca making the singer smirk.

"No thanks", she'd watch her scan the bottle now.

"It's Amy by the way", the girl would push some buttons as she'd keep glancing up at Beca, "We went to high school together"

"Right, yeah", Beca would nod her head slowly acting as if she could remember but would be met with Amy rolling her eyes.

"24.99 please"

"So.. Amy, do you happen to know where Chloe lives?", she'd hand over the cash now as she'd watch Any shake her head. "Or where she works?", she'd ask again.

"Thanks for shopping with us", Amy would hold out the bottle which was now in a paper bag as she'd force another smile.

"Got it", Beca would smile back at her with the same sarcastic expression as she'd take the bottle and leave.

Couple of minutes later Beca would be walking down the road after chaining her bike up to a fence. She'd smile at the people she had grown up alongside as they'd walk past, noticing that they didn't smile back or react in any way towards her. As she'd cross the street to go onto the other side she'd notice the shop that Chloe's parents owned and where Chloe used to work part-time through high-school.

Just as she was about to look away Beca would notice the redhead walk out of the shop now carrying some flowers for an older lady, taking them to her car. She'd walk over and lock eyes with Chloe who would freeze for a second before following the lady again, putting the flowers now in the back of the car. "There you go Mrs White", Chloe would smile and the lady who'd hug Chloe would then walk round to get in the passenger side of the car.

"Thank you my dear", Mr White would smile from inside the car, before glancing over at Beca who was stood behind Chloe waiting with her hands in her pockets. "Idiot", he'd mumble as he'd roll his eyes at Beca before driving away.
