Beca would be walking towards the school noticing Chloe walking towards her now carrying something that looked heavy. "Fancy seeing you here", she'd smirk noticing the small eye roll from Chloe. Beca would clear her throat feeling a little disappointed that Chloe was still acting off with her, pointing down to what Chloe was carrying now. "Can I carry that for you?"
"Yeah, thanks", Chloe would politely smile as she'd hand it over to Beca.
"What is this anyway?", Beca would raise an eyebrow as she'd look over what was now in her hands.
"It's a car seat Beca", Chloe would furrow her eyebrows, "You know for children to use when they are in cars", she'd be a little shocked and suddenly worried. "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea", she'd mumble before going to take the car seat back from Beca.
"Hey, hey I know what a car seat is", Beca would move away from Chloe laughing a little as they'd reach the front of the school. "Give me a little credit alright?", she'd smirk before placing it down on the floor near them.
"Okay so he should come out of these doors in a few minutes", Chloe would cross her arms, looking over at the doors of the elementary school.
"Same doors we used to come out of", Beca would continue to look at Chloe as she'd wonder what was going through the redhead's mind, if she was reminiscing like Beca was. Her thoughts would be cut short as she'd feel her phone vibrate in her pocket and hearing it ring.
Chloe would watch Beca pull the phone out of her jean pocket now, noticing the old flip phone and then recognising it from when they were in high school. "Do you need to get that?", she'd glance back up to Beca's face, seeing her shake her head and avoid eye contact as she'd put her phone back in her pocket.
"No it's uhm.. It's just my publicist", Beca would force a smile and run a hand through her hair.
"Is that the same phone you had from when we was in high school?", Chloe would ask her now, noticing the shift in emotion on Beca's face.
"What? Uhh.. No I don't think so", Beca would try and lie through her classic smirk, looking back at Chloe who'd have her eyebrow raised, clearly not believing her.
"It's a flip phone Beca", she'd continue to stare back at her.
"So.. I like the phone okay?", Beca would shrug her shoulders before putting her hands in her pockets, now hearing another ringtone. The singer would watch Chloe pull out her own phone now and look at the screen.
"Oh it's Stacie, I should get this", Chloe would slide her finger across the screen to answer the call before putting the phone to her ear. "Hey Stace", she'd look concerned, "Oh honey, don't cry", she'd glance over at the doors of the school quickly. "Look, I'm at the school alright but I'll come over and be there in 5 minutes okay? Alright, bye", Chloe would hang up the phone now, putting it back in her pocket.
"You're uhh.. You're leaving, huh?", Beca would point her finger to Chloe's phone for a second, before biting her lip a little nervous.
"Yeah if you are okay here", Chloe would watch Beca to try and work out how she was feeling.
"Uhh.. yeah, yeah I uhm-"
"You know what Aubrey is right around the corner and she'll have to pick up her own kids anyway so I can just get her to-"
"Woah Chlo it's fine", Beca would hold her hand out putting it on Chloe's forearm to get her to stop talking. "My Dad's house is like two minutes away, we'll be alright", she'd nod her head and smile a little now.
Chloe would look down at Beca's hand on her arm, gulping a little as she'd feel the electricity running through her from Beca's touch. She'd take a step back now so she was out of Beca's reach, looking down at the car seat again. "Okay, Alex knows how to put that in the car"
