The next couple of days Beca felt on top of the world. She had been spending all of her time either with Chloe and Alex or at home spending time with her Dad and writing new songs.
One morning, Brian would wake up and walk down into the kitchen to see a brand new coffee machine sat on the side where the old one used to be. He'd look confused as he'd go over to look at it, finding a sticky note attached giving him instructions on how to use it.
He'd watch with curiosity as the machine pour pour out a cup of coffee for him. Taking the cup, he'd smell the coffee inside before taking a sip, leaning back against the kitchen side. "Hmm.. not bad", he'd mumble quietly as he'd nod and look down at the coffee.
Brian would now turn around to look out of the window. He'd instantly spot Beca raking the front flowers beds, tidying up the leaves and putting new soil down.
Outside, Beca would breath heavily as she'd put down some more new soil. She'd stand up straight and wipe the back of her hand across her forehead. Just as she'd go to grab the rake that was behind her she'd spot her Dad holding it and now helping her.
"Mom used to love this part of the front garden", Beca would mumble loud enough for her Dad to hear as she'd walk over to grab a new bag of soil from the pickup truck.
"I know. We used to make sure it still looked beautiful when she-", Brian would avoid looking over at his daughter, instead keeping his eyes fixed on the ground below him.
"Then how did it get to looking like this?", Beca would ask.
Brian would sigh before standing up, stopping what he was doing, to look at Beca. "When you first left I tried to keep it together. But then Alex came along and I was busy helping Chloe with him", he'd notice Beca look down with her hands in her pockets. "I guess I just ran out of time to look after it with everything else happening"
Beca would nod her head, feeling ashamed once again. "I'm really sorry Dad"
"Hey Bec, look at me", he'd walk over and put a hand on her shoulder, causing her to look up into her Dad's eyes. "You're here now and I am so grateful to have my daughter back", he'd smile noticing the small tears starting to pool in her eyes, "What do you say we call in some reinforcements to help us with the gardening?"
"I think I know someone who could help with the flowers", Beca would smirk as she'd grab her old phone off of the side.
"You bought me a new coffee machine but when are you going to get yourself a new phone", he'd look down at the old flip phone in her hand noticing her tense a little while texting.
"I don't need a new phone", she'd mumble, "this one is perfectly fine", she'd smile closing the lid and looking back at her Dad.
A few minutes later Chloe would pull up outside of the house with Alex in the backseat, and a trunk full of plants and flowers to put in the new soil. The four of them would spend the rest of the afternoon in the garden, planting the new flowers in to the soil.
Alex would be laughing a joking with his family by grabbing the water hose and spraying them all. He'd continue to get them all wet as he'd run around the garde, trying to get away from Beca who would be chasing him.
"Gotcha", Beca would grab him around the waist, picking him up and turning him upside down, stood next to Chloe. All of them would be laughing as Beca would take the hose away from her son, spraying him instead all over making him laugh even more. "Go and help Grandpa with the lemonade", Beca would drop the hose and put Alex back on his feet, now watching him run inside the house.
"He is so much like you", Chloe would giggle as she'd run a hand through her now wet hair, pushing it back and off of her face.
"Is that a bad thing?", Beca would turn to face her, now noticing the redhead's clothes were sticking to her body, making her gulp a little.
