Beca would be playing soccer with Alex in Chloe's back garden as Chloe and the rest of the family, including Aubrey and Jesse with their children, were stood over by the barbeque. Beca would have the ball at her feet and would keep moving it in between each foot and away from Alex, laughing as she'd watch him become more and more frustrated at his Mom.
"Come on kid, you're gonna have to do better than that", Beca would smirk as she'd move the ball away from her son once again.
"You're not even giving me a chance", he'd cross his arms, sulking now as he'd stop running.
"Do you think the other kids on the teams you play against are gonna give you a chance?", Beca would kneel down in front of Alex now. "You need to always be at your best against them if you want to be successful like I was", she'd wink and push him playfully, causing him to smile and uncross his arms.
"Food is ready you two", Chloe would call out to them, making look over at the redhead.
"Thanks Mom", Alex would step forward and wrap his arms around his Mom, hugging her tight.
"No problem kid, now come on I'm starving", she'd ruffle his hair with her hand as she'd stand up again before both of them would walk over to the long table set up with everyone sat around.
Beca would grab herself a hotdog from the barbeque with Alex following behind her to grab the toppings that were laid out on a separate table. "So the challenge is the biggest mouthful, got it?", both of them would walk side by side to the table, Beca would sit down next to her Dad with Alex sitting down on her other side, opposite Chloe and Jesse.
"Wait wait, I need ketchup and mustard first", he'd lean over the table to grab the bottles that were sat in the middle.
"That's my boy", Beca would smirk and nudge him as she'd watch Alex squirt the sauces over his hotdog before holding it up in front of him, smiling back at his Mom.
"Okay ready?", she'd hold up her own hotdog, looking over at him.
"Ready", he'd nod his head, smiling. The two of them would then watch each other as they'd take the biggest bites that they could of their own hotdogs, both trying not to spit out their food from laughing as they'd be chewing.
Beca would nod her head, smirking as she'd chew and eventually swallow her food, grabbing her drink to take a sip. "I think you might have one that round little man", she'd smile to herself.
"Alex! Honey! Oh my god!", Chloe would jump up from her seat as she'd look up to see Alex holding on to his neck and trying to breathe. "He's choking! Alex!", she'd run around the table to get to him.
"Alex, try and breathe buddy", Jesse would follow his sister, glancing over at Beca who would be sat there frozen watching it all unfold. "Hey Beca, do something! He's choking!", he'd shake his head quickly before standing behind Alex and putting his fist enclosed over the top of the young boy's stomach. Jesse would push into his body as he'd use the Heimlich maneuver to try and get the food out of his throat that was choking him, "I got you bud it's okay, come on"
"Alex! Alex, look at me sweetie! You're going to be okay!", Chloe would be crying as she'd watch Jesse, kneeling in front of her son. "Come on baby, breathe for me!", she'd start to panic as she'd look back at her brother. "It's not working Jesse, you have to do something! He's not breathing!"
"Okay, it's okay. I have this alright!", Jesse would shout back at her.
"Come on baby, breathe. Just take a breath", Chloe would start repeating again.
Beca would watch her son choking on his food in front of her. The sound of Chloe repeating his name over and over would make her focus on her Mom and what happened in the past.
