The next day after school Chloe had decided to join Beca and Alex, who was taken to the old music shop that Beca used to go to all the time when she was growing up, to buy him his first guitar.
The rest of that week Alex would always ask to go over to Beca's so she could teach him the guitar more. Chloe of course allowed him to go over and sometimes went with him so she could see how good he was. As she'd watch her ex fiancé and their son play guitar together she'd feel a certain way inside not knowing if it was happiness, guilt or jealousy.
As the week went on Chloe was feeling more and more comfortable and happy to let Beca spend time with Alex. She could see that her son was enjoying every bit of time he spent with the brunette.
Chloe would be at work right now, sorting out a bunch or corsages for the homecoming dance at her old high school which was tomorrow night. As she'd have her back facing the door she wouldn't be able to see who walked in as she'd hear the bell above the door chime, letting her know someone was there. "I'll be right with you", she'd call out over her shoulder.
"Don't worry, it's just me", Aubrey would say back to her as she'd be holding two coffees and a bit of lunch for the two of them.
"Oh my god, thanks Bree", Chloe would smile as she'd notice the food Aubrey was holding along with the two drinks. Both of them would move into the back room where there was more space to sit down and eat. "You are a lifesaver", Chloe would smirk as she'd take a drink and the sandwich from inside the paper bag.
"Well seeing as I don't get to pick up Alex anymore, I thought I'd come see you and ask how it's all going?", Aubrey would smirk back at her as they'd then both dig into their lunch together.
"Yeah well I still think that one day I'm gonna wake up and it's all been a dream", Chloe would smile in between eating. "I- it's surprised me how Beca has been with him. I knew they would get along because the minute he started talking and walking I could just see Beca in him more and more", she'd pick up her sandwich again to take a bite.
"Do you ever think she's here for different reasons though Chloe?", Aubrey would raise an eyebrow and ask her best friend.
"What do you mean? She came back for the funeral Bree", Chloe would furrow her eyebrows.
"Yeah I know that, but that was nearly two weeks ago and she hasn't left yet", Aubrey would start to explain. "And I get that she's been spending time with Alex but do you not feel like she's doing it to get close to you"
"I don't think so Bree", Chloe would shake her head and grab a kitchen towel from the side to wipe her hands after she had finished eating. "She seems like the person we all knew back in high school. The person that-"
"The person that you fell in love with", Aubrey would cut her off, watching Chloe look down at the ground now playing with her fingers and chewing on her bottom lip. "You really want to fall for her again? Do you not remember what she did to you?"
"Of course I remember Bree!", Chloe would snap and stand up now getting annoyed. She'd run both hands through her hair, frustrated. "But I also remember all those other times in high school that she is starting to remind me more of"
FLASHBACK
Chloe would be with her current squad of cheerleaders, performing their routine on the sideline for the soccer state championship game in their senior year. As they'd finish their halftime routine, holding their poms in the air, the crowd would stand up and start to cheer loudly as the team would come running out from the changing rooms.
Chloe would turn around with the girls and would start to jump and cheer for the team as it would run out onto the field. She'd furrow her eyebrows as she'd notice that her girlfriend was nowhere to be seen.
