Is it Worth the Pain?

I woke up in the same room I woke up in last time. Same plants in the corner, same room lighting, same bed, same flickering light in the corner. I looked down at my chest and saw a bandage over the area I shot myself. I saw Alex right there, next to the bed. He was holding my hand and I could tell he was crying because his eyes were red and puffy.

I felt so embarrassed.

"You didn't answer my texts so I got worried and came here." He said.

"I'm sorry Alex." I said. I didn't know what else to say

"You know you almost fucking KILLED yourself, right? The doctor said you were 2 inches away from your heart. 2 inches Maya." He said

"Yes I know.."

"Do you know how much that would hurt everyone you know. Especially me." He asked.

"They wouldn't care Alex." I said as my eyes started tearing up.

"I would care Maya. I would die for you, don't you realize that?"

"Stop lying Alex." I said

"Maya.. I'm not lying." He said as he started tearing up.

"No Alex please don't cry I'm sorry"

"Maya. I care about you." He said

He leaned in and hugged me tight. When he let go, he kissed me on the check. I guess he does care..

"I'm definitely bot leaving your side now" he said

"Alex, thank you, but I know you're just going to get sick of me. I'm going to get annoying and you're going to leave me." I said. That's what happened before.

"Maya I'm never going to leave you. You're the best. You're not annoying Maya you are perfect okay?"

"Darling, I'm far from perfect."

"Maya stop! Just listening to you makes me sad. You can't realize that you are loved. You are beautiful. You are wanted. Don't fucking listen to Lexi okay? She's just jealous of your beauty." He said.

He's special. He's got that something that makes me happier than anyone else can. I can tell it would be best for me to keep him. After all, he saved my life twice.
