Warm nights

After that lovely cold morning, snuggling on the couch with Alex, watching Netflix, and eating, we were heading off to bed. I got up and checked the time on the clock. 11:57. "Alex, I'm gunna go to sleep. It's almost midnight" I said. "Yeah me too, I'm pretty tired." He said as he got up and walked to the room with me.

"Thank you Alex" I said once we got in the room. "For what?" "For everything. For being there for me when my own mother wasn't, for taking me in, for being alive. Thank you so much. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." I said. He just stood there, staring at me, with that cute smile of his. "What?" I asked. "You don't realize how important you are, do you? You're the best thing that's happened to me. My past wasn't that great, but now that you're in my life, it's so much better. I love you Maya and I don't want to lose you either" he said.

He walked over and hugged me. "You're the best" I said. When we stopped hugging, I went into the bathroom to change into my pajamas. I walked out of the bedroom, down the hall, and opened the bathroom door. While I was changing, I was smiling uncontrollably. See, that's the thing, once you find someone that makes you smile uncontrollably, keep them. But of they only made you smile once and they're a jerk to you, you deserved better anyway.

When I was done changing, I went back into the bedroom and Alex was already in bed. "Are you asleep?" I whispered, just incase he was asleep. "Nope, I was waiting for you." He said. I set down the clothes in the laundry basket, and that made me think.. "Alex, where's your mom?" I asked. "Oh, she went on a business trip. It was a last minute thing she had to take care of. She said she'd be back in like 3 weeks or so." He replied. "Ohh ok" I said, relieved.

I climbed into bed and pulled the covers over me as Alex put his arm around me. "Good night Maya, I love you" Alex said. "I love you too" I said back.

As Alex was falling asleep, I was just looking around the room. I looked at the window, with the fall leaves falling outside. The trees dancing in the wind, the moon shining bright, the front yard, and the neighbors house across the street. Then my eyes shifted to the room itself. The dresser, full of clothes. The closet, not as full of clothes, but still some clothes in there. The floor, a nice brownish tile. The lamp on his desk, and other things.

It finally got to a point where my eyes were fighting to stay open, so I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

Hey guys! Sorry I don't wrote as much but I'm trying. In between school and church and conformation, I don't have that much time. But I'm definitely gunna start writing more. Thanks for reading!
