Earlier today, the news was spreading over social media like wildfire after both Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart announcedtheir split via twitter after being together for two years. This comes as a complete shock to the Riverdale fandom as #SprouseHart was one of the most beloved couples on the CW show.

Cole stated, "It burdens my heart heavily to say this out loud, but sometimes things don't work out the way you expect. Lili and I have decided to go our seperate ways, though we still hold our love for each other."
Fans went into an uproar in subtweets, and things escalated further when Lili announced it herself, "Though Cole and I are no longer together romantically, he is still one of my favourite people in the world and my best friend."
The 'Riverdale' actress went on to say, "This is one of the hardest times I am going through and I need some time to myself."
So what does this mean for the fate of Riverdale? Sprouse and Reinhart play teen sleuths turned lovers 'Betty Cooper' and 'Jughead Jones', whom last we saw were very cozy despite the mayhem surrounding them.
