ELEVEN

They came downstairs about midnight, laughing about their most recent part of their conversation. Michael told Jess that one time he was riding his skateboard and a kitten jumped out of nowhere, so he got scared and fell of his skateboard. He had to get stitches on the side of his forehead.

"Where were you, Jessy? I miss you!" Slurred Skylar, as the two reached the bottom of the stairs. She wobbled along to her best friend with an empty cup in her hand. It was obvious that she drank too much. "Krissy said we go now 'cause it is late and-" then she didn't make it to the end of her sentence because she vomited all over the carpet.

"Well done," muttered Jess, pulling Skylar to the direction to the front door. "We must get going." She then told Kristin who had the car keys in her hands ready to go.

"I don't feel so well." Skylar said softly to Jess. Jess just patted her on the back telling her she will be all right.

Before they got out the front door, Jess heard a voice call for her. She turned around and saw a smiling Michael, waving goodbye. Jess thought he looked quite cute when he smiled with all his teeth. It suits him.

"And then you vomited all over the carpet!" Laughed Jess. The two girls are on the phone on Saturday evening talking about the party the night before.

"I must of made a full of myself being so drunk." Gushed Skylar. "Anyway, Kristin told me today that you went up stairs with Michael! Is that true?"

"Um, yes. But we did nothing sexual." Assured Jess. "We actually talked about stuff."

"Like what...?

"Stuff. Things you don't need to know."

"Yes I do!" Skylar whined. "I'm your best friend! I need to know everything."

"Uh! We just talked about random stuff."

"Is that all?" Jess could imagine Skylar right now wiggling her eyes at her.

"Yes. I'm positive! Don't you believe me?"

"Nope!" Confessed Skylar.

"Thanks a lot, best friend!"

"I love you!"

"I hate you."

Then in the background, Jess heard Skylar's mum call out for Skylar on the other line. "Hey, Jess," Slylar started, "I need to go help my mum. We'll talk later! Good night, my true love!

"Okey dokey, Sky. Sleep tight!" Jess giggled.

After a couple more of goodbyes, Skylar finally hanged up.

Jess laid in her bed, still thinking about the coloured haired boy.
