Jack’s P.O.V.

I gazed sullenly at the mirror before me, accosting my eyes with my appearance.

A towel was hanging loosely from my hips, the aftermath of the recent shower I had taken, after Alex demanded that I bathe, stating I was ‘starting to smell like my gym locker’. Lovely, as usual. Fair enough, though, considering I hadn’t showered since Friday, and it was now Sunday.

Saturday had been spent watching bad movies – mostly outdated chick flicks – and cuddling on the Gaskarth’s couch, interrupted by the occasional lazy make out session. Isobel walked by every now and then and ‘awe’d at us. My boyfriend and I seem to be getting a lot of that lately. I later spent the night, sleeping soundly with Alex safe in my arms as my parents believed that I was working on a science project with Rian. The lies were growing; Rian isn't even in my science class.

Currently, I was planted behind Alex’s door, examining my reflection on the back of it.

My eyes haltingly trailed over my body’s numerous flaws, pinpointing each one. I was too skinny, yet too fat. A layer of pudge sat where a six pack would never form. My hair fell, lifeless and pathetic, across my forehead. A crooked nose overtook dauntingly large portions of my face with its stature. Ridiculously large black eyebrows dominatined my forehead. My obscenely hairy legs were more suited to a werewolf than human. Even my eyes were abnormally dark, virtually black, consuming my pupils.

I was forced to scamper back in shock when the door was flung open, revealing a grinning Alex. He looked gorgeous, as usual, in simple dark blue acid washed skinny jeans and a white t-shirt.

His eyes roved over my body as he suggestively licked his lips and connected our eyes. As the brunette moved to touch me, I shuffled backwards, eyes falling.

Alex’s expression turned concerned from the devious one he’d previously been wearing. An unasked question of What’s wrong? passed between us as he unsurely clasped my hand, entwining our fingers.

I shook my head lightly; hoping he’d remain oblivious, and that I could get dressed and continue on with the day. We were due to meet up with Rian and Zack in a little over an hour to discuss forming our band, anyways.

My pleas remained unheard, though, as my boyfriend noticed the mirror and mentally connected the pieces. He sighed, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind and resting his chin on my shoulder, turning our bodies so my eyes met with our reflection.

“Why can’t you see that you’re stunning, baby?” he asked softly as I remained silent, hopelessly looking anywhere but at the mirror.

“I love every part of you,” the older boy continued.

His fingers trailed lightly over my stomach, “Your perfect, flat stomach.”

Kissed the tip of my nose, “Your adorable, bent nose.”

Gazed into my eyes, “Your piercing, puppy dog eyes.”

Tugged on strands of my hair, “Your wonderful, sex hair.”

Ran a hand over my thigh, “Your gorgeous, lanky legs.”

Softly bit my collar bone, “Your lovely, preferably love bite covered collar bone.”

Brushed the tips of his fingers across my V, “Your sculpted, sexy V.”

Pressed our lips together, “And your plump, kissable lips.”

I shivered from his touch as he mumbled into my neck, “You’re beautiful, Jack.”

The thought that this incredible boy found me attractive was almost enough to convince me. Because if someone like Alex believed I wasn’t disgusting, then it must be the truth. But, then again, lying is possible. I tried for a moment, to see myself through Alex’s eyes. See what he saw.
