"So, err, fancy seeing you here." I said, rather awkwardly.

Luckily, the other boy seemed at least a bit more relaxed than I was, and chuckled quietly. "No shit. I thought, after you ran off that day, I'd never see you again..." he replied, getting quieter as he spoke, a blush creeping onto his cheeks.

Seeing this, I smiled goofily, unfolding my schedule. "So, it says here that I have, uh, English first. Mr. Bringham? Same as you?" I questioned.

The dark haired boy nodded slightly, eyes trained on the floor, obviously embarrassed. "Yep, and he's a real ass about being late, so we should probably get going if you want to keep your head." He announced, laughing quietly.

"Well, I do happen to enjoy having my head on my shoulders, so lead the way." I joked. He started to do just that, before I grabbed his elbow, stopping him in his tracks.

"I, uh, I d-don't think we've ever actually been properly introduced. I'm Alex." I stated, smiling sheepishly.

"'Tis good to meet you, fine sir. I am Jack, Jack Barakat, Jack Bassam Barakat, of the Maryland Barakats." He replied, managing to keep his tone and face serious for a few seconds before we both burst out with uncontrollable laughter.

Just then, the bell rang.

"Well, there goes my pretty little head." I said timidly, and giggled. Yes, giggled. God, what the hell was this guy doing to me?

"Mmm," I murmured quietly, "pretty indeed."

Alex looked up quickly, a shocked expression on his face.

"I, uh, we should really go." I stammered, grabbing his hand and pulling him down the hall after me, before I could think better of it.

After getting told off by Mr. Bringham for being late, Alex and I collapsed into chairs in the back of the room, slightly out or breathe from basically sprinting to class. My mind raced as the teacher blabbered on,  hearing nothing he said.

Am I gay? I wondered, I can’t be. I like girls. Right? Right  But, I think I’m attracted to Alex.. And if I think about it, I never have really felt this way about a girl. Still, I've barely known the guy for twenty minutes, not counting that time in the coffee shop. But, I-I do like him.

That's when I looked up at the boy with reddish brown hair sitting beside me, and saw him gazing at me. His honey brown eyes held a mix of emotions that I couldn't decipher. Could he possibly like me too?

With another quick glance at the boy, I decided that was definitely impossible. He was surely way out of my league. And almost certainly straight. Plus, if, by some chance, he was gay, with his looks, he could have any guy he wanted. And I would be at the bottom of that list.

But then, why did he ask you to have coffee with him, all those months ago? a voice in the back of my head asked. I drowned it out, determined not to get my hopes up.

After seriously considering jumping out a window to escape the mind numbing boringness of this class, I decided to take the route slightly less likely to get me detention on my first day of school, and scrawled a note to Jack. Since the boy looked deep in thought, I simply wrote Hey, watcha thinkin' about? before expertly flicking it off my desk and onto his.

After Jack shot me a quizzical look, I watched him turn cherry red as he read the note, giving away that there was something embarrassing going on in his head.

After a few moments, a small paper airplane landed on my desk. It was unnecessary for such a short distance, yet cute. I unfolded it, grinning slightly. A strange, fluttering sensation appeared in my stomach as I read the piece of paper. The note had only one word written on it, in Jack's barely legible script: You.

I’d known I was gay for years, yet never had an actual boyfriend. Partly because most people thought I was an ass hole, and partly because I was scared of getting close to people. But maybe, just maybe, Jack could be different.

Apparently I just stared at that note, dumbfounded, for the rest of class, because the next thing I knew, a bell was ringing, and people were practically stampeding towards the door.

Still in a daze, I got up and looked at Jack, who was determinately looking anywhere but at me.

"S-so, what's our next class?" I choked out.

Jack glanced down at the piece of paper in his hand, which I assumed was his schedule, and stated, "I've got music. You taking that?"

I just nodded in reply, and followed as Jack turned a corner, then another, and another, until I had no clue where we were.

As I walking behind Jack, I couldn't help but notice, and appreciate, that I had a pretty damn good view of his ass. The skinny jeans he wore complimented it rather nicely. I found strange images running through my head, of things I’d like to do to Jack, this boy that I barely knew. I shook my head quickly, trying to get my brain back onto a more appropriate train of thought.

Since we somehow managed to be late to our next class also, we were the only people in the hall when we arrived outside the music room. Jack glanced at me over his shoulder, seeming to ask if I was ready to go in, and I nodded slightly. He opened the door, stepped into class, and I gasped in shock.
