Jack's P.O.V.
I tumbled out of my car, almost breaking several bones in my rush to see Alex. It was seven a.m.; only for Alex would I get up earlier than usual. He and his mother had gone to the school early this morning to discuss Smith again with the principal, Isobel being seemingly unsatisfied with the man walking free. Although I agreed whole-heartedly, I saw the lawyer's point. We had no solid evidence.
Alex was now sitting on the steps in front of the school, waiting for me. He had asked me to come keep him company until everybody else arrived and I, obviously, had agreed. I didn't posses the ability to say no to the boy.
As I approached him, I felt my eyes grow wide with shock at his appearance. And my pants possible grow a bit tighter.
"Holy mother fucking shit Alex, your hair." I exclaimed once I was in hearing distance.
His formally coffee colored locks had been dyed dark brown with just a hint of red, and cropped a bit.
He tugged nervously at one of the strands, timidly questioning, "Do you like it?"
"I didn't think you could do it, Gaskarth, but you did. You got even sexier." I replied confidently.
A grin stretched across his face instantly, and I sat next to him, running my fingers through his hair and taking a moment to appreciate this. Him. Us.
It was safe to say that after last night, our relationship was stronger than ever. You'd think that after a break up like ours, things would be at least slightly awkward. But, luckily, you'd be dead wrong.
Alex proved this when he smiled softly and leaned in, connecting our lips.

The first four periods of the day flew by, a blur of under-the-desk hand holding, flirting, and gibberish spewing from the teachers mouths. Alex and I were now walking to the cafeteria to meet up with my - our? - friends, hand in hand. We got a few odd glances, but neither of us gave a shit. Most people at school accepted us; there had always been a large focus on anti-bullying and non-discrimination in this town.
Entering the cafeteria, my eyes quickly spotted Alex G., Matt, and Rian sitting at our usual table. I tugged Alex in that direction after we had made our way through the lunch line.
Immediately after sitting down next to each other, Matt's voice cooed, "AAAAAAW, I'm so glad you guys are back together. You're so adorable."
I felt a light blush spreading across my cheeks. Alex, on the other hand, seemed t be cocky-confident-Alex today, and responded with, "Damn right we are." whilst he smirked.
Alex G. gave me a knowing look across the table, and I sent him a grateful smile. Who knows where we would be if the little genius hadn't forced me to see what needed to be done.
I snapped my attention back to the current conversation, and found myself embarrassed, yet not surprised by what I heard. Typical Rian.
"So, Alex," he said, "While Jack is off in la la land, I want you to tell me: have you done the deed?"
Alex's hand settled on my leg just above my knee under the table, and he answered, "I do believe that that is for me to know and you to try to pry out of Jack. Because I think it's adorable when he gets embarrassed."
Rian laughed, I glared at both of them, Alex winked at me, Matt blushed (he's by the far the most innocent of our group), and Alex G. didn't acknowledge any of our existences. The usual.
The odd banter continued throughout the remainder of lunch, a few other stand-out comments being:
“My dick has feelings too, ya know.” courtesy of Rian.
