Chapter : 7

Ave's Pov

It has been one month since I had my last encounter with Dr. Black and I hate to admit that I miss her presence. After that day it was as if she disappeared from the surface of this planet. I tried asking the hospital staff but no one knew where she was and thus her whereabouts were a secret.

"Hey are you okay ??" it was Joshua, he is really a nice guy unlike his mother who is a total bitch. 

"Just exhausted other than that I am fine" the reason was her mother, thinking about her made me feel more and more empty and lost. It was as if something was missing from inside of me.

"Alright, well let's get you checked then, shall we ?" he asked making me look at him with an eye brow raised, do I look like an idiot ? I know there is something which he is hiding because he has been running these routine tests every Monday on me after that day when I got myself locked down there In the morgue.

"What for ?" I asked giving him my best resistance look like a little 5 year old does. Yeh right I am acting childish and that's because he is sometimes annoying.

"You don't want to pull that act out again Cam, you know the consequences" he said and yes I heard that, he called me Cam and if I am not wrong that's what Dr. Black was about to call me that day!! Finally I got a lead and now I will do my research about this Cam person, I know that it was just a short name but it was something better than nothing, oh and what Consequences was he talking about.

"First of all I am Ave not Cam and second of all I am not afraid of you and whatever those consequences are" this attitude I was so in love with, my inner goddess was now glowing with pride but there was this thing in a corner somewhere of my heart which said I shouldn't have said what I said.

"Are you not ??" this voice, familiar to every active cell in my body had me shivering. She is back ??! All the red warning lights in my head were now well lit and my inner goddess who was glowing bright with pride just few seconds ago was now begging for me to run, after what happened outside the morgue I am not actually considering any part which involves any contact with her. Yes I missed her but I never said I wanted to meet her!!!

"I I will see you upstairs" that said I rushed my way up the staircase without giving any of them a second look, in my mind I can imagine Joshua holding in the urge to laugh at me!!!

For the next half an hour I did what Joshua asked me to do, he first collected my blood sample and then he took readings of my heart. "Earlier, you said that you were feeling exhausted, is it the same on the scale from past few weeks ?" he asked giving me a bottle of what he calls my medicine and if I am being honest here whatever it was in the bottle it really was soothing, I haven't had any episodes of my heart beating fast or it skipping beats after when I started having it.

"I don't feel the same anymore, no idea what changed but now I am much more on the calmer side of the scale" I said opening the bottle and taking a sip from it, the taste was just heavenly as always, if I were to choose between the medicine and all the delicious food out there in the world. I would without second thought would choose the former.

I would ask him again about the medicine but as always his answer would consist of "It's Herbal" and that's the only answer I would get. 

"Very well, everything seems normal to me, you can proceed with your day and remember you are not supposed to be anywhere near the morgue" he said taking the now empty bottle from me.

"I would never go down there again Joshua" I said as I walked out of his office to continue my day as a doctor.

Joshua's Pov

Yes, it was Regina's blood I gave Ave as medicine, I hardly mixed two to three drops of her blood in a cough syrup and No, Regina had no clue about any of this. I was left with no other choice then to take matters in my own hand. Ave is on the verge of death and providing her with Regina's blood will just delay it until both of them actually decides to bond naturally but that I know will not be any time soon so through a drop or two we can at least keep her heart from stoping. Ave's heart has to stop in order for her to transform. It's the crystal on her chest which is the actual source that will keep her alive, the heart was a temporary source to keep her system running during her human phase.

I felt a gust of wind across my face and in no second I was shoved up against the wall by Regina and I knew this was gonna happen when she finds out about it, "You gave her my blood, without knowing the consequences. You made her drink my blood!!" her razor sharp fangs were out, right in front of my face and all I could do was try and defend myself which by no means was of any help.

"Hardly two to three drops of your blood" I managed to let those words escape my mouth and in response she choked me even more.

"That explains why suddenly I was feeling the thirst for her blood" she said and the very next second she fell down on the ground, it was as if she lost control of herself. She was shivering and changes in skin colour was evident on her fingers.

"Mother are you okay ?" concerned I kneeled down beside her as I heard her whisper some incoherent words after which she tried to stand up but failed, this was the first time I saw her so weak and fragile, "you are not okay, please tell me what Is going on Regina. I can help" I said trying to help her up to which she pushed me away.

"Enough destruction you did already, if you really want to help then just stop giving her my blood" she said, her voice was barely audible and that was how weak she became.

"You know I can't do that mother, your blood is already in her system and her cells now are bonded. She will want your blood to survive and in a way this is the decision I made considering the fact that now Carl won't be able to bond with her" I know I did nothing wrong, it was for all of our sakes.

"It was without her knowing and at the same time she didn't give her consent" she said and I knew what would follow, within the snap of her finger I found myself loosing consciousness, the last thing I heard from her was "you need the rest Joshua till I fix myself" and after that everything went dark.
