CHAPTER SEVEN:"the corpus callosum is not only the largest matter structure in the brain, but also the bridge connecting all parts of the brain to each other." lydia heard the teacher explain.
she wasn't paying attention to the rest. she was too busy looking out the window.
she saw a man standing in the parking lot looking at an old blue jeep.
"any questions, thoughts, insight, lydia?" mrs. fleming said making her attention go off the window and go to her.
"i completely agree." lydia said.
"is there something outside that's more fascinating than the structure of the human mind?" she asked her.
"no. i don't think so. no." lydia replied.
"okay. good. now, many people credit the corpus callosum, uh, for giving us a sense of intuition, gut instinct, even we ourselves aren't aware-" mrs. flemings explanation was cut off.
"i'm sorry, i'll be right back." lydia said running out of the classroom as scott ran out behind her.
"i'm just gonna check if she's okay." scott told the teacher before he went to see lydia.
lydia ran outside as fast as she could in her heels and she yelled out to the man.
"hey! hey! you can't tow this jeep." lydia told him.
"paperwork says i can. it's reported as abandoned." the man said looking at his clipboard.
lydia placed her hand on the jeep and looked up at the man.
"and now it's not." lydia said.
"oh, this is your vehicle?" he asked her.
"does it matter?" lydia asked making the man laugh.
"sounds like a no." the man said.
"it's mine." scott said running up from behind them and putting his hands on the jeep.
"uh, my jeep. thank you. i'll move it. once i get the keys. from my locker. after you leave." scott said.
"i'm sorry, once it's on the hook..." the guy began.
"please don't say, you're on the hook." lydia said.
"well, i can't now." he said.
"oh, i, okay. look, there's gotta be something that we can do. sign something? call someone?" scott said.
