Chapter one - New beginings

Right so let me start by introducing myself , my name is Laura Mendes , I'm 14 and have just moved to LA with my brother Shawn and my parents . I have to start a new school tomorrow , i am really missing my old friends but i needed a new start . Ever since Shawn's carrier got big everyone started treating me differently , i decided i was going to keep it a secret this time round until i could see who my true friends are . Keeping it a secret is going to be hard because Shawn and I are so close but i will have to find a way .

//next morning //

I awoke to my blaring alarm and turned it off and dragged my self to the bathroom . I got in the shower , washed my hair and body , shaved ect . I just blow dried my hair and straightened it , then just applied some light makeup . I got dressed , nothing too fancy just some high waisted skinnies , a loose fitting grey top and one of shawn's lumberjack style shirts , i swear the boy had hundreds of them .

I walk downstairs to breakfast . I just got some strawberry pop tarts and a glass of orange juice . My mum and shawn came and set next to me as we all ate .

"C'mon kids , hurry up and get in the car , you don't want to be late on your first day do you ? " mum nagged at the both of us . We just let out a huff and god into the car "SHOTGUN" shawn called as he dived into the front seat . I just rolled my eye's and giggled .

We pulled up outside the school and we both got out the car , i checked to see if anyone was looking and it was all clear . Almost seconds off the bat , a few girls were crowding round Shawn asking for photo's , i juts sighed and walked away .

First class was music , i decided to take music , it seems like the obvious choice for me . Shawn taught me how to play the guitar and i could sing a little so i thought why not .

As i walked into the class room i felt about 20 eye's glare at me like i had just murdered someone , ah the perks of being the new kid . I sat in a seat at the back as the teacher waffled on about rules and expectations and then handed us out out first assignments . It said we had to pick a song that inspired us , learn it and perform it to the group in 3 days time . This was my worst nightmare , I'm not confident like shawn and always preferred to stay in the background. Great , just great .
