The ghost stuck a finger in his ear and twisted it back in forth. One eye closed in annoyance," Dang girlie, you got some lung on you don't 'cha?"
"W-w-who are you? What are you doing in my room?"
"MY ROOM!" His human face suddenly morphing into something hellish and scary. I startled back. Standing now, I backed myself into a corner. The boy had red hair. It was short like a buzz cut. He had splattering of freckles across his nose and dark brown eyes. He looked like a normal kid before his face changed. Becoming more and more invisible till I could see his skeleton.
When he saw how scared I was, his face reverted back and he sighed pinching his fingers on his nose," I'm sorry. I'm sorry, it's your room too now. It's just... when you're trapped somewhere for all eternity you start to grow a little possessive, y'know?"
"Wait, what's going on? What are you doing here."
"Well ya see, honeycakes...," He came closer before fazing through the bed, like he actually became apart of the bed I had just been sitting on," I'm kind of a ghost."I looked at him in shock," What? How?"
"I don't really remember," he shrugged nonchalantly," But I do remember about fifty years ago when this was the boy's dorm but they switched it around after making renovations."
"Well, that sucks."
The boy suddenly started floating in the air on his back. As if he was leisurely lying in a hammock, he put his arms behind his head.
"Not really," He said airily," I get to be around smokin' hot chicks all the time now, and I don't want to have a roommate but at least it won't be a guy that I'm sneaking in to watch pee."
I made a disgusted face at him. Great I'm bunking with a perverted poltergeist.
"Follow me into the bathroom and I will kill you again. Anyway why don't want a roommate? Are you trapped in this room?"
He shook his head. Floating about the room so casually. " Nah, I just like having my own space. Usually I haunt the place until the girls run screaming but the headmaster said he'd exercise me if I didn't let you stay." He pouted as if this was just totally unfair.
He suddenly shot down, onto his feet, right in front of me. He had a dopey half smile on."So, roomie, what's your name?" He raise his ghostly hand in front me. Play nice. If you are actually gonna live with this guy, you have to play nice.
"Avery Grimsbane." Feels like I'm saying my name a lot today. I took his hand, well not really, my hand fazed right through his. There was a chill where my hand was inside his. It was uncomfortable so I tried to casually pull away. But I ended up shuddering and he snickered.
"Nice to meet you, Avery! I guess you can call me Danny."
"Phantom?"
"What?"
"Nothing!"There was a short pause as he looked at me funny," Anyway... enjoy the room. You can do what ever you want with it but if you put up any K-pop posters I will laugh at you.
"Alright, thanks Danny." I went to work putting my clothes into the dresser or the closet. At first Danny watched me, but soon got bored and started reading a fifty year old dirty magazine on the bed. I clucked my tongue at him. I decide to remake one of the bed with my own blanket it was purple and set up my alarm clock on the nightstand. Afterwards I propped my teddy against my pillow.
"Ha ha, you dork! What are you five?" Danny teased me from his bed.
I shrugged at him," Don't judge me, I'm a cuddler." He lifted up in bed and outstretched his arms.
"I make for a good cuddle-partner."
I chuckled at him," More like a good human popsicle."
He laughed out loud before sighing," Aves, I feel like this is the start to a beautiful friendship."
I pretended to raise a glass," Here's hoping, kid."
I began sprucing up a little. Picking bits of paper out of the carpet and stocking the bathroom with toilet paper. I tripped over a massive pile of Danny's 'nude-y mags' and comic books and we ended up agreeing that if he isn't reading them they go in a shameful stack under his bed.
I went to put my shampoo and other toiletries in the bathroom, when from the room I hear Danny roar in a demonic voice," WHO DARES ENTER MY DOMAIN!?" There was a girly squeal from the room and I rushed out.
In the doorway was the cat girl from before and a new girl I had never seen before.
"Bee," I cried," Down, boy, She's a friend!"
"Oh!" Danny's face changed back and he smiled innocently," Hi!""S-scary! The ghost looks kinda hot!" Bee began to hide behind the girl she brought with her. The girl had long straight black hair and a bored look on her face.
"It's okay, Danny, isn't gonna hurt you... I think?" I looked over at him, but he had already floated back to his bed and was reading again.
"Well that's a relief! We heard you got the haunted dorm room, so we wanted to make sure you were okay!"
"Wow, thank you so much! Is school already out?" I looked over at my clock it was already 3 I hadn't realized I had spent the better half of the day cleaning.
"Mhm, that's why I brought my roommate Violet with me. Say hi, Vi!"
"...Hi..." Violet kind of seemed like the goth to Bee's pastel. It was kind of cute looking at Bee hang off of her and Vi looking like she's rather be anywhere else but still tolerating it."Are you hungry? You missed dinner but as a welcome present I bake cookies!" Bee handed me a plate full of giant chocolate chip cookies. I almost started to drool.
"Wow, thanks, Bee that is so sweet!"
"Yeah, Bee's one redeeming quality is that she cook really well." Violet said. Bee just giggled before nodding her head," Well, we're gonna head back to our dorms, Avery. If Mr. Ghost makes it to where you can't sleep, you can always bunk with us!"
"Thanks, Bee, for the offer and the cookies." I said bye to Violet and Bee before closing the door. I sat the cookies on the desk and started chowing down. I started feeling like maybe staying here a while wouldn't be so bad.
