Conjuring and Classes

When I hazily opened my eyes the next morning, I was startled by a face looming mere inches from mine. I let out a yelp and leaped up in bed, scooting till my back was against the head board. I gripped the sheets and stared wide eyed at the red heads grinning face. He was floating inches above the bed, his ghostly visage shimmering around the edges a little. He was almost see through. His short hair rustled with some non-existent wind.

"Jeez, Danny! You scared the heck out of me!" I whined. It was entirely too early for his shenanigans. What did he think he was doing floating over me as I slept anyway?! I glared at him and kicked my blanketed foot at his head. It did nothing but phase through, however. Leaving my foot feeling kind of cold.

Danny let out a chuckle that kind of echoed in the empty air. Almost sounding like the spooky laugh from one of those horror flicks. He floated down till he was laying on my bed at my side. He had no weight and I didn't feel the bed dip down. He kicked his feet up and moved them back in forth as he put his fist under his chin. He kind of looked like a girl who was about to hear some juicy gossip during a sleepover. He batted his eyes innocently and said," I'm sorry. It's just that I figured you would want me to wake you before you miss your first day of classes."

I looked over at the clock. It was already eight?! I jumped up and started pulling things out of the dresser that I would need for a shower. I was going to have to hurry. Class started in one hour and I would not be late on the very first day. As I rummaged through my dresser, I spoke back at Danny," Okay thanks but could you maybe not be so creepy about it next time?"

The ghost boy sat up in my bed and crossed his arm. With a mock pout on his face, he huffed," Fine then. Maybe next time, I'll just let you sleep forever."

I rolled my eyes, turning with my clothes in my hand I said," That's fine too. Now I have too take a shower before I am late to class."

Danny's eyes brightened and he smiled a wide excited smile," Oooh! Do you need a shower buddy?" 

I screwed my face up at the boy sitting on my bed," No, I think I'm good."

"Oh come on," Danny griped," No need to be embarrassed! I'll just be the silent ghostly figure helping you wash your back."

I sighed and put my clothes down on top of the dresser. Then I moved over to where Danny sat on my bed. This time, it was my turn to get into his face. I leaned down in front of him until our noses nearly touched. I had never noticed how chocolate brown Danny's eyes were. With the blankest expression, I looked directly into those eyes," Danny, I swear. If you follow me into that bathroom ever. I will curse your soul into the fiery pits of hell where you'll spend the rest of eternity picking flaming rock out of your hair."

Danny looked back at me for a while. Mimicking my blank expression, then he pulled back rubbing his hands on his arms as if he was cold," That just gave me chills!"

He fell back on the bed laughing hysterically. Kicking his feet and rubbing his belly. He hollered with laughter as I stood over him dumbfounded. He rolled from one side to another on the bed. His bout of amusement causing small tears to leak from the corners of his eyes.

I straightened and sighed. Walking back to grab my clothes, I walked over to the bathroom door and flung it open. His laughter not subsiding in the slightest as I turn on the shower. 

Dressed in a black pencil skirt and white blouse. I left the bathroom. Hurriedly locating my black boots, I shoved my feet in them. Reaching the nightstand  between the two bed for my wand. I grabbed it and slid into my boot. Safe and sound. I grabbed my spell books as well. Not really sure what I might need for my first day of school. Clutching my books to my chest, I headed toward the door.
