A boring day of morning classes ended with a bell. I had finished my basic classes like English, Science, and Math and now I was supposed to report to Were Training on the first floor. The Were Training class was the last classroom on a very long hallway.
When I entered, I noticed that unlike all the other classes, this one had windows lined on every wall. The desk were replaced with tables with two chair situated behind each. I became nervous when I noticed that there were not a lot of empty seats left. But when I noticed Bee waving frantically from her seat at an empty table, I smiled and walked over to her.
"Hey, girlie~ Glad you made it!" She sang as I put my books down.
"Thanks for saving me a seat."
"Welcome class. Please settle down and take your seats." The teacher said as he came in through the door.
"Oh yeah, we have a new pack mate here, guys. Against my suggestion, the headmaster put her in this class but she's... human. So try to be gentle with her." The teacher waved his hand to me and everyone turned their eyes in the direction he gestured toward.
The first pair of eyes I noticed was that of a boy with jet black hair who had his feet kicked up on the table and his arms folded as he leaned back in his chair. His bored look and disinterested face didn't hide the fact that he was very handsome. But what sent ice through my veins was his cold golden eyes. I let out a sharp gasp and shot back in my chair. Bee's hand flew to hold mine and she looked at me with concern.
"Aves? Are you good?"
"Y-...yeah. I think." I said pulling my eyes away from the boy's to look at my friend. I don't know I have such a fear of golden eyes. I've had it since I was young but at my old school it wasn't a very common eye color to come a across so I never had worry.
"Don't worry about Mr. Claude. He's just an old goat." Bee said trying to reassure me.
"I heard that." Mr. Claude growled as he turned around to write something on the board.
Bee let out a giggle.
"Today, class, we will be running outside."
People around the room whooped and cheered. I groaned. I hate running in gym when we were forced to run laps, I would always walk or even hide in the bathroom anything to get out of the tedious and physically taxing exercise. Today would be no different. Did this school even have a track? If we were supposed to be jogging in the woods I was bound to twist my ankle.
"Don't get too excited class. This will not be a free run. Today is a team building exercise as well as a lesson in pack formation. The alpha, that being Creed here, will take the lead. Marcus, the beta being close to his side. And Jack, our omega will take the rear." As Mr. Claude spoke he pointed at the diagram he had created on the board.
"Keep a tight formation. I don't want to have to hunt you down if you go missing, understand?"
An almost unison 'yes sir!' rung out throughout the classroom, and then in a messy line all of the students left outside through the back door. Once outside we were in a clearing next to the building with a sprawling of trees to mark the tree line.
"Because, our new student here can't shift someone is going to have to carry her."
The attractive boy, Creed, looked a me from the corner of his eye. Then I caught him roll them before he said," Jack."
"Sir?" A smaller boy with round glass and wavy dirt blonde hair stepped up. He had a smattering of freckles over his nose and appeared to be a bit nerdy. Was he the omega? Despite his timid demeanor he was also quite cute and was still slightly taller then me.
"Carry the girl." Creed commanded, barely even looking at me. Rude... Don't I have a name?
"Yes sir!" Jack smiled before walking over to me.
"Hi! I'm Jack. Welcome to the pack. What's your name?"
"Hey, Jack. I'm Avery Grimsbane. Thank you, it's nice meeting you!"
Jack raised his hand for me to shake," If you don't mind, I will driver today... and your car!"
I let out a pity laugh at his poor joke and took his hand to shake. But the second our hands, Creed was next to us, pushing Jack to the ground. Jack landed hard and looked up at Creed with confusion," Boss?"
"I changed my mind. I'll carry her."
Jack smiled again and shot back to his feet, unfazed," Oh okay! Whatever you say, boss."
I looked on with shock at this exchange. What the heck is going on here?
