After that was evening classes. It's hard to believe that the afternoon had gone by so fast while I had been running with the wolves and howling at the setting sun. I wasn't tired at all. I was still glowing from the high of riding on the back of a werewolf!

I walked back into the school and managed to make it to the basement just before the bell had rang. The walls of the basement were covered in dark red fabric. Wall sconces holding burning candles were the only thing that lit up the dark corriodor. Lining the walls were medieval paintings and coffins propped against the wall. In the dim room, the walls looked as if they were covered in blood. The coffin adding an eerie and ominous aura. I had wondered if there were anything in them?

"What are you doing, little rabbit?"
My back tensed from the sudden sound. My eyes scanned the dim room but I saw nothing.
A silky chuckle like that of a villain bounced off the walls making it difficult to pin point where exactly it came from.
"Poor little, bunny, it seems you have stumbled into the lion's den, haven't you?"

A cool breath tickled my neck making me whirl around to face my unknown assailant. I face to face with a boy. Pale and tall, his scent wafted into my nose and almost caused my mouth to water. His gentle smell of mint and something warm like a campfire was intoxicating. I inhaled deeply, excited for when I would be able to breathe in another bit of that scent.

As my heart beat ever faster, the boy's lips broke into a lopsided smirk a smirk that allowed his incisor to glint in the dim light," Come, little bunny, let's get you out of here before that sweet scent of yours alerts our peers."

He took me gently by the shoulder and attempted to turn me around back to the stairs but I shrugged him off.
"Actually, I'm going to vampirics right now. So I'm in the right place."
"Strange, you don't seem the type walk the night."
I giggled,"That rhymed. But yes, I got my schedule changed recently."

The boy raised one eyebrow," I see...in that case follow me, this corridor is rather dark so I shall show you the way."

He turned and began to walk, I startled into a half jog to keep up," Oh! Yeah, thanks..."

It was a long straight hallway with not a single other door there but a the end of the corridor was a ornate  mahogany with little candles in scones on either side. What is up with these vamps and their candles?!

I turned to the boy of my literally dreams and smiled at him," Thanks...um..oh I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name."

The boy grabbed the handle of the door and looked at me condescendingly,"That's because I didn't throw it, bunny."

He opened the door and walked in.

The other vampires did not even look up from their from the work set in front of them on their desk as we came in. The boy from my dreams walked to the back of the classroom and sat down while I took one of the empty seats up front. The teacher who was typing on her computer at her desk, looked up at us. A stunning woman with jet black hair and a figure to envy. She smiled ever so slightly," Ah! So good of you two to join us. Avery Grimsbane, welcome to our class, My name is Anastasia del Grievous the third but you may call me Ms. Anna. And Mr. Valentine, since you were late why don't you read your poem that was assigned as homework yesterday."

"If it is my lady's wish then I would be honored." His voice said from the back silky yet somehow with a tingle of ice.

He stood in the back with a paper in one hand, most of our classmates couldn't be bothered to look up but the room did hush into silence. I dared myself to glance at him, though I worried he would catch my eye. I still strained my ears to hear him.

Death is my lover

how I missed her sweet embrace

I miss the cold touch

I miss her rotting smell

I miss the taste of her lips

like ash in my mouth

I long for the day

When me and lover shall be together

To take hold in her arms

and never be released

Our love eternal.

Ms. Anna had stood from her seat at her desk her hands clasped together as she closed her eyes and hummed wistfully.

"My what a lovely verse!" She sighed," You know, in most vampire cultures the greatest act of love is to kill one's partner. The eternal kiss of death is affection given to mortals that vampires greatly envy from the sideline. We're all like petulant children craving our mother's attention."

The class let out a couple of chuckles and a few of them even nodded their heads. Was I the only one who found that poem a bit morbid. What was with all this emo crap?

The boy named Valentine sat back down and the teacher began her lesson.

"So if some of you, had completed your reading last week you'll know a bit about today's topic. Like the spellcasters upstairs, vampires have unique abilities passed down through family lines. All vampires have the common powers of increased strength, speed and senses, but some of you are capable of teleporting or transitioning into a bat, or reading minds. These powers are passed down from generation to generation of the oldest vampires better know as the elder race. Unlike the elder races, descendants of first and royal vampire have all these abilities at once. Does anyone know who the first vampire was?"

There was a silence, no one raised their hand and no one spoke up. I raised my hand," Count Dracula?"

Ms. Anna clapped her hands," Yes, wonderful! Vlad Dracul lll, prince of Wallachia better know as Vlad the Impaler was the very first man who contracted the vampiric disease."

"The are many other elder vampires such as the mad king George, and queen Mary the first of England. In vampiric hierarchy is important to recognize people of greater rank..."

I took out my notebook and hoped to god that there wouldn't be a test on this.
