11:27pm

Connor and I laid in each other's arm just occasionally speaking through our comfortable silence. I really enjoyed being in his presence.

He said he had somewhere to be though, but he didn't say where. I was tired anyways so I didn't question it. He dropped me back off at my room around about 3am before wishing me a happy birthday again and leaving.

I spent the rest of the day sleeping until I finally decided to get up and chill with Jaron for the remainder of the day. We ate, smoked and drank in the comfort of our dorm while I sat and answered calls and texts all day wishing me a happy birthday.

My night was finally ending and though I didn't do much, I actually did enjoy my birthday. It was definitely something to remember.

One week later...

Connor POV

I hadn't seen Terrance since his birthday. We spoke and FaceTime'd often, but that was pretty much it. He'd spent most of his day occupied with school and homework and by night, I'd been out "handling business" or at least that's what I was telling him.

He didn't really ask too many questions which I liked because had he, I didn't really know what I would tell him because I couldn't tell him the truth. At least not now.

I was cautious with letting Terrance in on pretty much all of the details of my life that came up in conversation except one. It was a secret that I wasn't proud of and had unfortunately become a big part of my life. Something I couldn't get rid of.

Work hard just to get half back
Used to, work hard just to get half back
Now, I'm getting to it that way..

"Ugh" I sighed, reaching over to my nightstand to grab my phone and answer it.

"Yo."

"Hey boss, the new shipment just came in. What do you want us to do with it?"

"Just hold onto it for now. I'll be down to the warehouse a little later. I want to make sure that everything gets where its supposed to be. Is that all you needed to tell me?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, just let me know if anything happens before I get there."

The line ended.

I checked the time to see that it was later than I thought. Sigh.

I pulled the covers from over me and sat up straight on the bed trying to get the energy to get up. I walked into the bathroom to began my morning routine. After giving myself a good look in the mirror, I also decided that it was time to shave.

I set the water so that it was just the right temperature, letting it run while I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and shaved. Once that was done, I stripped out of my clothes and turned my library on shuffle before getting into the shower.

One of my favorite songs begin to play.

Lines – tell them read between it
Tripping while I'm slipping, busy fighting off these demons
Listen while I'm spitting boy, you probably won't believe it
But life is so terrific, tell them pinch me if I'm dreaming

I rapped along to the song and a few others that played, losing track of how long I was in the shower.

After I had finished my mini concert in the shower, I dried off and walked back into the room before scanning through my walk-in closet for something to wear.

I didn't really have much of any plans today so I decided that I'd just put on a simple sweatsuit. I had one in pretty much every color and since it was sunny out today, I decided to go with a yellow one and some matching Jordan 1s.

I sat on the edge of my bed, eventually allowing myself to fall back as I browsed through the various apps on my phone trying to pass time.

Though I didn't have anything to do today, I low key didn't want to do anything. I wasn't in the mood to stop by my warehouse just yet to sort through the merchandise, I usually preferred to do that at night.

Realizing that I had got dressed and that there were a million better things to do on a Saturday than to sit in bed all day, I decided to browse my options.

I didn't have much of anyone these days. Most of my friends were grown as well and had lives of their owns, so we only hung out occasionally when we could.

My parents passed when I was younger in a plane crash. After that, my younger sister and I were put into foster care and we were eventually separated when I turned 18 and was forced to be on my own.

I lived with a friend from high school temporarily until I was able to get enough money to move out and live on my own. That's why I started my clothing line. I needed money, but didn't like the idea of having to work for someone and the money surprisingly came with ease.

I had eventually lost tabs on my sister, and was unsure of her whereabouts these days which was kind of a bummer because she was one of the last people I actually had. I think that may have been why I clung so tightly the first chance I got to..

Terrance.

I grabbed my phone scrolling through my contacts until I found his name.

I hadn't heard from him yet and it was almost 1 o clock. He had been working a lot lately in school with finals coming up so it was possible that he was still sleep, but I wanted to see him.

I hesitated before clicking the FaceTime icon. It rung a few times before I hung up.

I sat on the bed, debating on what to do next. Terrance was sleep and that was pretty much my only alternative.

With already having my mind set on doing something today, I decided that I'd just get in my car and see where my mind would take me.

Before I decided to change my mind, I hopped out of the bed, grabbing my keys off of the nightstand and headed down the steps.

I walked outside and around to the driver's side of my car. I unlocked the doors and got in. I plugged my phone up to the AUX, adjusting the volume until it was just right.

I was sure to put on my seatbelt before backing out of my driveway and heading to I don't even know where.
