Two days earlier..
Will POV
I woke up later than usual for a Saturday. I was always up and out before 11, but today I was just feeling especially sluggish so I took my time with starting my day.
When I was still playing football, I would be up and out of bed before 8 even hit, but as of recently, I had been suspended indefinitely from the team.
I crawled out of bed and to the bathroom to do my morning routine. I showered, washed my face, brushed my teeth and went back to my room to lotion, put on deodorant and get dressed.
Truthfully, I would have probably remained in bed if I didn't have to make these deliveries or if Terrance ain't wake me up. We were up all night and his phone started ringing at like 10 in the morning.
He managed to go right back to sleep, but I came back to my room. I liked being up under him, but I needed to stretch out so that I could fall back to sleep comfortably. I only managed to sleep for another 2 hours or so and decided to just get my day started.
I had finished getting ready a little before 2 and figured that the quicker I got these deliveries out, the quicker I could come back to my room and relax in bed for the rest of the day.
I was dressed in the usual attire that I'd wear for football practice because not everyone knew what had happened with football and I liked to keep it that way. It was also a good cover up for what I was actually doing, the reason I got suspended from the team in the first place.
I grabbed my backpack from the floor by my desk and checked to make sure I had my phone, room keys, and anything else I needed before I headed out.
As I was locking my door, I looked down the hall towards Terrance's room to see a familiar figure about to enter; my mentor and boss.
Working for him had gotten me suspended from playing football, but I didn't blame him. Sure I had gotten kicked off of the football team for who knows how long, but with the money I was making working for him, I was able to help out my family back home and finish paying for school since I had lost the scholarship I had for football as well.
He looked my way and sent a head nod, one in which I returned.
I locked my door, taking little notice to him having entered Terrance's room and because he was my boss, I didn't really question most things he'd done. They were usually for a reason.
I made my way downstairs and to my car so that I could drop off these deliveries. While I was delivering the shipments, I got a text from one of my partners.
SB: Bro, when you get a chance, come stop by the warehouse. Boss is coming down later so you'll most likely get paid then and you need to come pick up your new shipments.
Me: aigh
In the midst of reading his text, I almost swerved into the other lane. He could've just called me if he was going to say all of that.
I honestly would have skipped out on the visit down to the warehouse today and postponed it to a later date if I wasn't getting paid. Money was always motivation.
After I had dropped off the last shipment, I began to make my way to the warehouse. Luckily, that stop had been closer to the warehouse than my dorm so the usual hour drive was only going to be about 20-30 mins.
I arrived at the warehouse and parked my car around back and entered through that way. I always tried to be as inconspicuous as possible when I was here.
I was greeted by SB and a few of the others who were unloading a few trucks. I went over to help them because it looked as if there were a bunch of boxes that needed to be taken out.
