Linebacker (Chapter 1): Will, one of the main people in Terrance's life was a linebacker for the football team.
Party line (Chapter 2): This is the initial place where Terrance and Connor see each other for the first time.
Lyft line (Chapter 3): Here, Terrance and Connor meet again and this is where there relationship really vegans to take off.
Clothing line (Chapter 3): Connor's money-making disguise in his clothing brand "CHill". It is also Terrance's favorite clothing brand.
Quote in Terrance's birthday card (Chapter 6): "You can waste your life drawing lines, or you can spend your life crossing them."
Connor's rap in the shower (Chapter 8):
Lines - tell them read between it
Tripping while I'm slipping, busy fighting off these demons
Listen while I'm spitting boy, you probably won't believe it
But life is so terrific, tell them pinch me if I'm dreaming
These lines are from an actual song I found called Lines by Big Boi. I thought the lyrics somewhat paralleled the events of the story.
United Airlines (Chapter 8 & 11): Connor's parents died in a United Airlines plane crash.
Lines of coke (Chapter 13): If you had not figured it out at that point, you would have eventually come to realize that Connor was a coke dealer which was where his wealth really came from and it is also one of the main themes of the story. The ringtone choice, Hard White, was also a deliberate choice because of the song title.
Adeline (Chapter 16): Will's foster sister, Connor's actual sister, and SB's girlfriend. She was definitely a key part in the story.
Quote in Epilogue: "I always thought of you as the line connecting me to everything missing in my life." I figured, why not end the story on a good note.
