Chapter 5 | Months gone by

I've been through hell but to know that my friends are going to help me through it makes me feel better. People might say it's not a big deal but it's a huge deal. I'm just happy that Louis got there in time. I may be broken but he helps me forget what it's like to feel pain. Marlon is like the big brother I need. Brody and Vi are my best friends. We got the 'ride or die' bond. Minnie doesn't talk much but I know she cares. Her sister is a bit of a bitch. Mariana hates me because I didn't want to be with her brother. She doesn't know that he tried to rape me but I don't care. She never really talked to me.

It's been a few months, Louis and I have been on dates to the movies or restaurants. My favorite dates are the ones we have at my house. Sometimes AJ joins us. Louis is such a good father figure. Him and AJ have this bromance going on and seeing that AJ loves him as much as I do, tells me that Lou is a keeper.

"So whatcha wanna do today?" Louis asked. "Hmm, I don't know." I said as I scratched my head. AJ ran down the stairs. "Clem!" He yelled. "What's up kiddo?" I asked. "Can we go to the park? You, me, and Louis?" I look over at Louis. "Uh hell yeah little dude, let's go." Louis said as he got up off the couch. We went to the park and played tag. Yeah I know, it's a child's game but who said we had to grow up right? It was Me vs. Louis and AJ. Why did I get suck being the only one? Whatever, I'll kick their asses anyways. "Get ready to lose, losers." I said. "Oh I like that!" Louis yelled. "Go!" AJ yelled as he ran towards me. "Imma get you AJ!" I yelled as I chased him. "Gotcha!" I said as I tackled him. We started to laugh. "Louis save me!!" AJ yelled. I stood up, Louis and I had a stand down like you would see in western movies. "Make your move Lou." I said. "It's your call Clementine." He said. I walked back a little and he started running towards me. He ended up on top of me. "Ha ha! We win! Who's the loser now Clem?" He said as he had my arms pinned to the ground as he was on top of me. "Fuck off, you're taller than me." I said. "So?" He asked. "I have short legs, I can't go as fast as you." I said. He giggled. "Get a room." AJ said as he rolled his eyes. Louis and I looked at each other and we turned red. He got off of me and held his hand out to help me up. "Clem? Can you push me on the swings?" AJ asked "Of course kiddo." I said as we walked to the swings. I got a text from my dad.

D-Hey honey, where are you and AJ?

C-Shit. Sorry, I forgot to tell you, we are at the park with Louis.

D-Okay well get home soon, it's getting late. Oh and language.

C-Sorry and will do.

"Who was that?" Louis asked. "It was my dad. He wants us home soon because it's starting to get late." I said as I started pushing AJ on the swing. Louis nodded and sat on the swing next to AJ. AJ jumped off of the swing. "AJ, don't fucking do that!" I said as I walked to him. He wasn't moving. "Louis how is this funny?!" I said with a grumpy face. "It's funny because he's fine, He's trying to scare you." He said as he was laughing. "What?!" I asked. AJ jumped up and scared me. "You little dickhead. I'm going to kill you." I said as I fell backwards onto the floor. "Come on Clem it was funny." He said. "What would be funny is you getting your ass beat by me if you do that shit again." I said with anger in my voice. Both boys got scared and nervous. I rolled my eyes and started to walk home. AJ and Louis caught up with me. "Sorry Clem, I didn't think you would be mad at me for trying to scare you." AJ apologized. I sighed. "Don't do that shit. You could've been hurt. You know how angry dad gets because you're my responsibility outside of the house. I don't care if you think it's funny. To me it isn't because I thought you were actually hurt." I said as I was still mad. Louis went to AJ. "Don't worry little dude, she'll forgive you soon, you just gotta let her cool down." He said making AJ feel better. I got home and stormed to my room and slammed my door. "I hope I didn't just hear you slam my god damn door!!" Dad yelled as he came into my room. "What the fuck is your problem?" He asked. "Your fucking son." I said with an angry tone. "Watch your mouth, young lady." He said. "I don't care dad just leave me alone." I said as I rolled my eyes. "Enough with the attitude or else you won't be having a good night." He said with an angry tone. "I don't fucking care Lee..." I said. "That's it, I've had it with your attitude and the way you talk to me, I forbid you to see Louis and your phone is mine!" He yelled. "You can't do that!" I yelled as tears built up in my eyes. AJ came around the corner. "Dad it's not her fault, it's mine." He said. My dad slammed the door. "Fuck you!!" I yelled at the door. I broke down crying. My mom knocked on the door and came in. She sat next to me and hugged me. "Oh honey don't worry about your father, He's having a bad day." She said. "He can't do that. He can't keep Lou away from me. It's bullshit." I said as I sobbed. "I know honey, I know, but you need to relax and control your anger." She said. "Well AJ decided to be a little asshole and scare me by pretending he was hurt and unconscious...." I sighed. "Well I'll talk to him." She said. She handed me my phone. "Go and see him okay. I'll text you when dinner is ready." She said as she looked at my window. "You mean, sneak out to see Louis?" I asked. "It's not sneaking out if I'm letting you go." She said. "But what about dad?" I asked. "I'll deal with him." She said. "Why are you letting me do this?" I asked. "You really think I was a good girl? I snuck out to see your father all the time." She said. I smiled as I wiped my face. "I love you mom." I hugged her and grabbed my phone. "Be safe honey." She smiled. I climbed out of my window and walked down the street. I decided to call him.

"Hey babe, can you pick me up?" I asked.
"Yeah, where are you?" He asked.
"Well my mom let me 'sneak out' after my huge fight with my dad so I'm basically down the street." I said as I heard him laugh.
"Sneaky girl, I'm on my way." He said as I hung up.

I texted Marlon.

C-Hey are you busy?

M-Not really, what's up?

C-Can Louis and I hang out with you? I just got in a huge fight with my dad and I snuck out

M-Yeah, I'll invite Brody and Vi too

C-Okay cool, I'll see you guys in a bit

Louis pulled up and unlocked his car. "Hey...so what happe-" He said before I interrupted him. "Don't ask okay." I said as I got in. "So what do you wanna do?" He asked. I looked at him. "Head to Marlon's. I have an idea on what we can do over there." I said as I winked at him. I smiled at him and grabbed his hand. "Don't worry Lou, it's gonna be fun." I said as we started to head to Marlon's.
