Chapter 40 | The future

I couldn't stop crying. I laid down and curled into a ball while I hugged a pillow. Memories are not supposed to hurt. Not like that. I heard a knock on the door. "Clem...it's Louis...can I come in?" He asked. I walked to the door and unlocked it. I ran back to the bed. He walked in and closed the door. He locked it too. He walked over and laid next to me. He took his shirt and shoes off. "Bad memories?" He asked. "Yeah.." I sobbed. He pulled me into his embrace. I hugged him. "I miss my mom...I've been having nightmares about her lately..." I sobbed. He held me close. "I'm sorry Clem.." He said. I looked at him and wiped my tears. He stared up at the ceiling. I got on top of him and laid on his chest. The moonlight flooded into my room. He placed his arms around me. "Don't leave me okay...I need you.." I said. He smiled. "Never in a life time." He said. I smiled and kissed him. "So...Louis?" I asked. He looked at me. "When we first met, what where you thinking when you saw me?" I asked. "Well I thought to myself, holy shit this girl is so fucking perfect. I need to make her mine." He said. "You're lying." I chuckled. He gave me a smile. "Oh yeah well what about you?" He asked. "Jeez this guy seemed too rich to be going here. He even had a Gucci belt on. That stuff is too rich for my blood. He's actually kinda cute." I said with a smile. "Oh yeah, I remember I made sure to dress nice. Marlon told me girls like rich guys." He laughed. "I didn't like you because you were rich though. I like you...I love you because you are caring and loving and you do everything you can to make me smile." I said with a smile. "Seriously though what did you really think?" I said. He looked at me and smiled. "It's only my first day here and I already met this beautiful girl. I don't know what it is but there's something about Clementine that makes me happy. I'm glad that I met her." He said. I smiled. "I remember when I met you, all AJ did was tease and tease me. I wanted to punch him so hard for it." I said. "Yeah he's something else but he loves you." He said. "Yeah the little shitbird can be a dick but he knows when it's the wrong time to be one." I said. "So are you the only child?" I asked. "Nope, I got a little sister." He said. I gave him a surprised look. "Wait for real?" I asked. He nodded. "How come, I've never met her?" I asked as I placed my head on his chest. "She lives with my grandma because my mom and her don't have a good relationship like I do." He said. "Well I'd like to meet her some day." I said. "So I have a question." He said. "Yeah, what's up?" I said. "So I don't know why but I think I'm ready for a kid." He said. My head popped up. "You're serious." I said. I sat up. "Louis we are young, we already had a scare. I think we should wait till after we marry or in a few years." I said. He gave me a frown. "Don't you dare." I said. "What?" He asked. "Don't do that. Don't make me feel guilty." I said. He placed his hands on my ass as I sat on him. "Just remember, I'm never ever leaving." He said with a smile. I smiled and laid on his chest. We soon dozed of talking about Rosie.

One day Louis....one day....

A few years later
"Louis!" I yelled from downstairs. He walks downstairs with a towel around his waist. He had his V line revealed. "Yeah?" He asked. "We need to go to Target today." I said as I made coffee. "How come?" He said. "We need dog food, shampoo and conditioner, underwear for you and some other things." I said. He went upstairs to get dressed. I grabbed the last of the dog food. "Rosie!" I yelled as I started to whistle for her. I shook the bag and she ran downstairs. "Hey girl, you hungry?" I asked. She jumped up and I scratched her head. "Alright Rosie." I said as I poured the rest of her food into her bowl. Louis came down the stairs in his jeans, Jordan's, a chain necklace and a long sleeve shirt. I was wearing my hat, white converse, a white long sleeve with my gray zip-up jacket over it and jeans. He got behind me and placed his hands on my stomach. He kissed my neck. "Babe relax." I giggled. He placed his hands in my pants. "Louis!" I said. He smiled and took his hands out of my pants and slapped my ass. "You're lucky that I don't slap you right now." I mocked. He gave me a smile as Rosie walks over. "Hey girl." Louis said as he sat on the floor, petting her. I walked to the couch in the living room and grabbed the remote. I turned the TV off. "C'mon." I said as I grabbed my keys. He got up and kissed Rosie's head. "So, I thought that tonight is a good night to go on a date." Louis said as I drove us to Target. "Oh really?" I asked. "Yeah, since we are off work for tomorrow, I got us a hotel in Vegas." He said. I grew a smile. "Wait really?" I asked. "Yeah." He said. "Okay. At least we live in Big Bear, we don't really need a plane since we are in Cali." I said. "Well we can switch off on driving there." He said with a smile. We got to Target and saw someone I thought we were never going to see. "Oh Hey Louis, Hey Clem." He said. "James?" I asked. "You still work here?" Louis asked. "Yeah, I'm the manager though so I get paid good." He said. "Well that's good. It was nice to see you but Louis and I need to get done here then head out." I said. "Maybe all of us can hang out sometime, make good terms." He said. "That'd be cool. See ya later man." Louis said as he caught up with me. "Make good terms?" I asked. "You trust that?" I added. "Honestly I don't know but if anything goes wrong, I can handle this." He said. "Louis we are 21, well I am, you're 22. This isn't high school anymore. You fight someone and you'll be in jail." I said. "Yeah, I know." He sighed. "Alright, get yourself some boxers okay? I'll be in the back where the food is." I said. He nodded. I went to the food. "Alright let's see.....there it is." I said to myself as I grabbed goldfish. Louis walked up. "Goldfish huh?" He giggled. "Hey, you like them too." I mocked. He reached up and grabbed a bag of Lay's. "Alright now we need Pancake mix." I said. "I already grabbed it." He said. "Well then that's all the food we need here, we needa go to Costco." I said. He smiled. We love Costco, especially their pizza. "I need deodorant." Louis said. "Yeah I know, I can smell you from here." I teased. "Can not." He said with an embarrassed look. "Relax babe, I'm fucking with you." I giggled as I headed to the aisle with the shampoo. We soon finished at Target. "Oh my god, you're Clementine Everett and Louis Anderson. Can I get a picture with y'all?" A girl asked. "Of course." I smiled. We took the picture with the girl. "I love you guys so much, I watch you guys all the time. Thank you so much." She said as she left. "She was sweet." I said. "I love our fans." He said. We headed to Costco. "Okay so date night is at home with, drum roll." He said as he tapped his fingers on the cart. I giggled. "Costco pizza." My face lit up. "The perfect date." I said with a smile. We finished shopping and headed home. We put the groceries away and he set plates out on the coffee table in front of the TV. I went upstairs to get in my pjs. Soon after Louis came upstairs. He changed into his joggers. He grabbed me and kissed me. "Sorry, I couldn't help it." He said with a cheeky smile. I rolled my eyes with a smile. We went downstairs and he turned on Netflix. We watched one of Kevin Hart's shows. "Clem?" He asked. I turned the TV down. "Yeah?" I asked. "So we've been together for a while and I just wanted to say that I'm glad you stuck with me." He said. I smiled. "Of course, you're the love of my life Lou." I said as I kissed him. He smiled.

When we left to go home a few years back when I went to LA, he gave me reasons to fight. For him, for AJ, dad, mom, our friends. For my real mom. I'm 21 now and I think I'm ready to tell him...
