Chapter 19 | Big secret

Clementine's POV
I walked into home room. "Hey guys." I said with a smile. "Hey Clem." Brody said.  I pulled out my navy blue book out of my backpack. "Still reading that?" Louis asked. "Yeah, I'm almost done with it though." I said as I opened the book.  Louis gave me a smile. "Nerd." He said. I closed my book and looked at him with an embarrassed look. He giggled. "Am not." I said. "Oh really?" He asked. "Yes really." I said. "You're so cute when you turn pink." He said. I blushed even more. "Shut up." I said. I asked the teacher if I could go to the bathroom. I got up and walked outside. I went to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. "Ugh why is he so irritating?" I asked myself. "Because he's Louis." Brody said. I turned around. "You okay?" She asked. "You kinda went out like something was wrong so I made a lie and came to check up on you." She added. I turned back at the mirror. I teared up. I looked under the stalls to see if we were alone. I looked at her once I made sure we were alone. "Brody....I need to tell you something....you can't tell anyone especially Louis..." I said. She nodded with concern. She got closer to me. "What's wrong?" She asked. "I uh...I think I'm pregnant..." I muttered. Her eyes widened. "Are you....are you sure?" She asked. "I...." I muttered. Vi walked in. "You okay Clem?" She asked. I nodded.  I looked at Brody. She took her phone out. "Let's take a bomb ass picture in the mirror. I need something for my Snapchat story." She said. Vi and I rolled our eyes. Vi made a peace sign with her fingers. I jumped on Brody's back and we laughed. She took the picture. "I'll send this to you guys." She said. I pulled my phone out with a smile. "My turn." I said. Vi and Brody smiled. "Okay so we gotta look hot Clem." Brody said. "Well that isn't a problem." I said as I made a pose in the mirror. Vi rolled her eyes and made a smirk. Brody made a pose. I took the picture and put 'class got boring' as the caption. "Wanna ditch?" Vi asked. "We'll get caught." Brody said. "Follow me." I said as I walked out of the bathroom. They followed me as I walked to my locker. I opened my locker and grabbed my keys. "Clem we can't ditch." Brody whispers. "Well you can either join Vi and I or you can go back to class." I said with a smirk. "Ugh alright, let's go." Brody said.

We walked to the gate where no one goes to. There's never any security over there. There's a gap underneath the gate. We are small enough to fit through. "Vi, keep a look out." I said as we slid our backpacks under. "I'll go first." I said. "You sure?" Brody said as she looked at my stomach then back at me. I nodded. I slid under the gap. Then Brody went under, Vi went under after Brody. "Alright my car is parked over there." I said as well grabbed our backpacks off the floor. We started walking to my car. My phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked. "Hey, where did you go?" Louis asked. "Oh yeah, Vi, Brody and I decided to ditch." I said. "Oh really? Without me?" He asked. "Looks like it. We are going to hang out for a bit. I'll be home soon okay." I said. He sighed into the phone. "You okay? You've been acting strange lately. You walked out of class with a blank face. I'm worried about you Clementine." He said. "Louis....I'm fine, I'm just....I got...I got a lot going through my mind right now...Brody and Vi are gonna take care of me I promise you that." I said. "Was it what I said about the book?" He asked. I chuckled. "No Louis, no need to worry." I said. "Just be safe, I need you here with me." He said. "I will." I said. I hung up

We got to my car. "So uh where are we going?" Brody asked. "To be honest....I don't know..." I muttered. "Clem I think you should tell Vi...what's going on with you..." Brody said. "You think so?" I asked. "She's your best friend too Clem." She said. "What did I miss?" Vi asked. I sighed. "I think I'm pregnant Vi..." I mumbled. "Wait what?!" She panicked. "You sure?" She asked. "I don't know....I was supposed to start my period 2 weeks ago but it hasn't happened...so I'm scared...." I said as I teared up.

I can't be pregnant. I haven't graduated yet, I haven't picked a college or got settled in my life yet. I can't take care of a kid. Let alone, Louis can't either. I'm afraid he'll leave me...if I tell him...

"I know what we can do. Let's go prom dress shopping." Brody said. "Ugh I hate dresses." I groaned. "That makes two of us." Vi groaned in my back seat. "Oh come on, don't you want to impress Louis, Clem?" Brody asked. "Don't I do that already?" I asked. She rolled her eyes. She gave me her puppy eyes. "No we aren't going dress shopping." I said. She gave me her puppy eyes again. "Ugh...fine." I said as I rolled my eyes. "Yay! Don't worry it's gonna be fun you guys." Brody said with a smile. Vi and I rolled our eyes. "Since when is dress shopping fun?" Vi asked. "Only time it should be fun is when I'm getting married." I said. Brody rolled her eyes.

We pulled up to the mall. "Fuck you and your puppy eyes Brody." I said with an attitude. She giggled. "When he gets you in the sheets tomorrow night after the dance, you'll be thanking me." She said with sass. "Gross." Vi said. "Oh honey, you'll have Minnie in the sheets tomorrow night too." Brody mocked.  "Lets just go." I said as we got out of my car. We went into Hollister. "Clem, they don't sell dresses here." Brody said. "Okay and? What? A girl can't treat herself?" I asked. "Okay fine, only because I need a new hoodie." Brody said. We spent a lot of time at the mall. We finally left Hollister. "Alright now let's get ourselves dresses." Brody said with excitement. I rolled my eyes as we went into this store. "Oh come on Clem, you're gonna have to wear a dress when you get married." Brody said. "Yeah, yeah whatever." I said. After hours of trying on dresses, I finally found one that I actually liked. "Alright, I'm buying this one." I said as I walked out the fitting room. "Uh you aren't gonna wear it and show us?" Brody asked. "Nope, you'll see it tomorrow with Louis." I said. "Awe that's no fun." Brody said.

We left the mall after we finished getting jackets at Tilly's. I also bought a pair of skinny jeans. "Well it's 6 and I'm still bored." Vi said. "Well we could see a movie. It's Friday so we don't really have to worry." I suggested. "Yeah I like that." Brody said. "We should invite the boys." Brody suggested. "I...I don't know..." I muttered. "Clementine, sooner or later you need to tell him what's going on." Brody said. Vi agreed. "I'm...I'm just scared..." I said. "Of what?" Vi asked. "What am I supposed to do if I tell him that I might be pregnant, and he leaves?" I said as I started to cry. "Clem, He's not like that. He loves you and everyone knows that." Vi said as she put her hand on my shoulder. "My dad left me, my mom...if I am pregnant....I don't want him to leave me alone, our child alone..." I said. "Clementine, he won't. He's a great guy." Brody said. "I love him and yeah I've thought about having kids with him but....we aren't ready yet...I'm not ready yet..." I mumbled as tears ran down my face. "Clementine...we are a family. We won't let you go through this alone." Brody said as she hugged me. I hugged her back. "Now take us to the movies, we'll have a best friend movie night." Brody said with a smile. I nodded as I wiped my face. I backed out of the parking lot. I took a deep breath and started driving.

"So what movie?" I asked. "We'll find out." Brody said. I parked the car and we got out. My phone went off. "I'll meet you guys inside." I said. They nodded and walked off.

"Hey Lou." I said. "Hey, I wanted to check up on my favorite girl." He said. I smiled. "I'm okay babe I told you already." I said. "Doesn't mean I won't worry. Anyways whatcha doing?" He asked. "I'm at the movies with Vi and Brody." I said. I started walking to the theater. "Sounds fun, what movie are you gonna see?" He asked. "I don't know, they wanted to surprise me." I said. "Oh okay well I'll let you go, I love you." He said. "I love you too, also I need to talk to you later or at some point okay." I said. "Okay beautiful." He said. I hung up.
