It was breakfast Thursday morning 8:30 am and the new boy, Luke, hadn't been claimed, hadn't spoken and hadn't really done much since he arived at Camp Half Blood. People had tried talking to him and they had failed, in the end they gave up. Rhyan didn't. For the past 6 days he'd been at Camp Half Blood she'd followed the same rutine.

Rhyan picked up her tea and toast then walked over to his table and sat down. The blond boy looked up and watched her as she took a sip of her tea. They sat in silence. Rhyan finished her tea, got up and left. Same thing everyday at 8:30 to 8:45. 15 minutes of silence.

Not today.

Today Rhyan was going to break the silence.

"You should eat something you know." Rhyan said before sipping her tea.

"So should you, but you don't." He spat back looking down at the table.
Rhyan sighed putting her tea down. "I might not eat breakfast, but I snack through the day until dinner. Then eat a proper meal. You don't."

Luke looked up at her, his brow raised. "Why? Why snack, instead of a meal like everyone else?"

"Where we hadn't been eating properly before we got here we have to build up our meals slowly. Otherwise we'll make ourselves sick." Rhyan shrugged.

"Where we're you before?"

"The streets, you?"

"Streets."

They fell into an awkward and uncomfortable silence. Rhyan took the last sip of her tea before getting up to leave. "I'll be off now." Luke grabbed her wrist.

"Stay." And so she did. Rhyan sat down. Luke and Rhyan talked and wandered around camp. Luke told Rhyan about his mum going crazy and his friends ,Thalia and Annabeth, and Rhyan told him about Noah and Oliver and how she had yet to be claimed.

"Wait. You haven't been claimed?" Luke exclaimed, shocked.

Rhyan shook her head. "Not unless I was claimed in my sleep." She laughed.

"Doesn't that bother you?"

"Why should it? There are other kids that haven't been claimed, becides, in some ways it makes me feel normal... like I'm not a demi-god and I've just been living with a single parent for a while." Rhyan left out the bit about the single parent being dead.

Luke nodded. "But wouldn't it be better knowing who you belong to?"

"I belong to myself I make up my own decisions." Rhyan shrugged, carrying on walking.

The pair walked in silence for a bit, just enjoying their new found friendship and the journey. That was until they stumbled on the training ground cabin 5 was using.

"Oh lookie here boys. Some new blood to push around." A tall boy with black hair and a muscley build spoke up. Rhyan reconised him from the week before. His cuts and bruises had gone down a lot but the large welt under his eye was prominent enough- Marcus Humwell.

Rhyan dispised him almost instantly. The words 'bully', 'idiot' and 'big for his boots' crossed her mind along with a couple of others she didn't like saying, prick being one of them.

"What do you want, Humwell?"

"My reputation precedes me, eh boys." Marcus laughed to his his followers (siblings and other kids too scared to sick up for themselves). "Looks like the little lady knows my name."

"Kinda hard to miss with that great bruise round your eye." Rhyan muttered under her breath. Marcus clenched his teeth. He didn't react well to disrespect or back chat. He didn't react well to anything really.

"You wanna come over here and say that?" Mark snarled, standing up from his slouched position.

"Yeah, and what are you gonna do about it?" Rhyan glaired back.

•~*~•~*~•~*~•~*~•

Rhyan sat down on her bed in the Hermes cabin, tending to her wounds.  The awnser to the question she'd asked Mark was to beat her up. When that didn't work he broke two of her fingers and gave her a kick for good measure before leaving her with Luke, who'd helped get her up and to cabin 11.

"Where are you going?" Rhyan asked Luke.

"To get some training in before dinner." He said, walking out the cabin door.

"And I think I'll get some sleep." Rhyan mumbled laying on her bed. She hadn't had a chance to sort her fingers out yet, but at that moment that was the least of her worries.

When Rhyan woke she was extremely and noticeably hungry. She looked up at the clock. She'd missed dinner and lunch, as well as all her snacks. She wanted food. No she needed food.

Rhyan got up, grabbed her two bracelets that some how turned into her tonfa swords and walked out. As much as she hated to even do it, she was going to have to steal some food.

By the time Rhyan had reached the dining pavilion everyone had gone, as was the food.

Rhyan snuck around the pavilion layout. Now she came to think about it she wasn't sure where the food was kept or how to get there, where ever there was. Rhyan walked stealthily around the edges of the pavilion to where the smell of tomorrow's breakfast emitted. She eventually found her way to the back exit of the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen was a mountain of different foods, from fruit to sweets to eggs from sandwiches. Rhyan stuffed her pockets with sugary foods and bunched her arms with a single sandwich and a bag of crisps.

She was so intent on making sure everything was in the same place as before and being not caught in the kitchen she backed out into someone.

Rhyan jumped, spun round and landed on the floor in a heap. As she landed on the floor, Rhyan managed to drop most of her food.

"What did you do that for?" Rhyan half-whispered, half-shouted at her food dropper. The boy was a little  taller than Rhyan and a lot stronger obviously. He just watched her. "Well then Crash Bang Bandicoot how about you help a little lady up?" Rhyan asked, extending a hand.

"It's Crash. Just Crash."

"I'll get up my self then..." Rhyan sighed before wincing. Her fingers were seriously hurting and she ached all over.

"What were you doing?" Crash asked.

"Flying to Mars."

"You were stealing."

"No. I was borrowing without prior consent."

"And no intention to give it back?" Crash raised a brow.

"Exactly." Rhyan paused. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go to bed and fall into a lonely, tiresome and hungry sleep. Night Bandicoot."

Rhyan walked off out from the back of the kitchens. She deeply hoped Crash didn't report her. She only wanted to get some food.

"THEFT!" Rhyan spun round. "CATCH." A little distance away crash threw something at her. A fresh sandwich.

Maybe he wouldn't snitch after all.

A/N~ hope you enjoyed. Chow.
