Both blue and red teams were at a stalemate. No one was willing to move. ''We've got to move.'' Terri stated the obvious."If we do we'll be crushed! They have Ares on all sides."
"We might as well just give up. We can fight."
"If we can't fight them then we'll just have to get round them. One way or another." Oliver stood up. "Come on. We've got some of the smartest, craftiest, nimble and helpful demigod around. If that ain't a start then I don't know what is...... or um.. something like that." Oliver looked at the floor and tried to minamise himself once he realised everyone was looking at him.
He found the attention extremely unbearable. Oliver was a small boy who'd been kicked out of his school then run away from his home in Pensilva after several attacks. He'd survived on the streets for a bit before he'd been found by Rhyan and Noah.
He had been a skinny Indian kid without a clue what to do or how to stay safe in a world full of ignorant and uncaring adults. If he bought attention to himself in that world he'd be pushed around. If he got noticed the attacks started to become more and more frequent. He hated attention.
If he didn't know you then you may as well have been talking to a jumpy record.Sensing Olivers discomfort Rhyan removed the attention. "We've got to think up a plan." And just like that everyone was forming plans and ideas.
•~*~•~*~•~*~•~*~•
Noah was worried. His family were on the other side and he didn't want to be the one to fight them.
"Don't chicken out now Theft." Crash glared at him. Noah shook his head. "I won't."
Noah was Oliver's opposite. Oliver was dark skinned, dark haired and dark eyed. Noah was tanned with blonde hair and green eyes. Noah was crippled and quite weak, Oliver was pretty healthy despite the malnutrition and strong for his age. Not only that but Noah wasn't afraid to get some attention.
"Crash! They've somehow broken through. They are scouting round the edges."
Noah's eyes went wide. He knew this technique. This was Oliver's 'make-the-enemy-focus-elsewhere-then-hit-when-their-back-is-turned' tactic. He'd explained it when he was trying to explain chess to Noah.
"Crash wait."
"What do you want Theft?" Crash turned to Noah. "Can't you see I'm needed else where."
"Don't break formation. Their gonna send a small group this was to get the flag. That's a distraction!"
"No they aren't. Their resources are spread too thin. They need someone to defend the flag."
"Crash trust me! If we-"
"Shut it! Your wasting my time." Crash beard down onto him. "If you think your so good then you defend this bit yourself."
"Fine I will."
Crash hadn't even been gone 3 minutes before Oliver flew out the trees and aimed for the flag. Noah stood in front of it.
"You'll have to get through me first!"
"Easy." They both drew the small swords and lunged. It must have been an odd sight. Two small boys in armour twice the appropriate size, fighting with swords either could bearly carry. Just plain strange yet at the same time they were both grinning like idiots.
While they were fighting, the 2nd hidden member of the blue team appeared. Little Julia Feingold snuck out and made a grab for the flag.
Rhyan hid in the trees watching. She couldn't break cover just yet. She wasn't ment to be there. She was only supposed to make sure Noah was doing good, but for some reason that's not how it worked.
Rhyan was about to leave when she noticed him- a skilled apollo camper pointing his bow and arrow at Julia.
The shout got caught in Rhyan's throat. The arrow sailed through the air. Blood splattered onto the floor.
Noah looked over at the scene, Rhyan had broke cover and was now holding Julia and putting pressure on her wound. She was doing it wrong. She went to pull the arrow out. "STOP!"
"Don't pull it out." Noah pushed Oliver away, if they were truthful neither of them really wanted to fight.
The apollo camper that shot her was coming out of the tree. "Oh Gods oh Gods, please forgive me." He rushed to Julia's side.
"You're an apollo camper. You should be able to help."
The camper looked at Oliver. "If you haven't noticed I'm not very good at this. Archery isn't one of my specialties, and neither is healing."
"So what are you good at?" Rhyan asked.
"Singing."
Rhyan looked at the boy. "Singing?"
He nodded. "But from my limited knowledge we should probably pull the arrow out."
"No, don't." Noah spoke up making his way to Julia.
"What? It needs to come out."
"It's a 75% chance she'll bleed out if we do. Any one willing to donate a sock? " Noah asked. Every one took off their socks and gave them to him.
"Hi Julia, I'm going to turn you on your side. This may hurt a bit, but it will help." Noah and the apollo camper turned Julia on her side. Rhyan took over from Noah's post. Noah placed two socks on either side of the arrow.
"This will allow us to bandage the wound without without pushing the arrow in further. Anyone got anything like a bandage so we can get her to Chiron and some of the other campers?" Julia's breathing was turning ragged, the arrow had gone straight through her lower abdomen.
Slowly but surely, Julia was wrapped up enough to secure her and stop the arrow moving to much.
"Why wasn't she wearing any armour?"
"She took it off because it was just a ment to be a sneek in and retrieve."
•~*~•~*~•~*~•~*~•
The game was called to a halt and Julia was sent to the apollo healers.
"Well done max, we never knew you could bandage. Seems like you know more than you let on, eh?" One of the older campers patted the archer on the back.
"Actually, it wasn't me. It was the newbie."
Three ares campers looked straight at Noah, menicing looks on their faces. "So it was you that sided with the other team then cripple?" The middle one called before the other two joined in, agreeing.
"You should pay for that you know. In blood."
The three boys grinned at Noah before slowly advancing. No one stopped them as the dragged the small, slightly crippled boy somewhere they couldn't be seen. The bullies targeted their anger and enjoyment into each punch. Now they had a reason- an excuse- and they were going to use it at every chance they got.
A/ N~ Bit of a filler before I get into the real story (and yes I actually planned it out this time) Random question for you guys, Camp Half Blood or Camp Jupiter?
