Rhyan couldn't belive the nymph approved of Crash's 'gift', if you could call it that. But she didn't dwell on that too much, the land of chaos was what really captured her interest.

The strange tree they stepped through had led them to a narrowed path that twisted and turned into darkness.
Rhyan could feel that the floor under her feet, it's strange sponge like texture causing her to wobble a little. However when she looked down the floor was as just cobble stones. Solid rock.

"Does the floor feel strange to you, Bandicoot?" Crash sighed, her nickname had obviously stuck and he hated it with a passion.

"No Theft. It only feels strange to weirdos like you."

"Nah man, I think she has a point." Birch shuffled uneasily like he was scared of the floor. 'Weren't saytars ment to be one with the earth? Protect it, not fear it.' Rhyan wondered to herself. Rhyan still didnt trust him however, if Birch was on her side she wasn't going to complain. She would just keep an eye on him.

Birch knew from the moment he met Rhyan that he'd need to be careful around her. She had suspected him of being untrustworthy since the bush incident, before the mission.

"Fine. If you're both going to complain, I'll do something about it."  Crash sat down in the middle of the path, pulled out a lighter and set fire to some dried moss from near by.

"And how is that-"

"Shut up! He's praying." Birch muttered to Rhyan.

"Oh Ares, father, I beg you grant us the strength to fight off any evil that comes from here." Crash carried on, ignoring the pair, and threw a small piece of biscuit from the ration pack into the fire.

"You're praying to the wrong God. Just saying."

"My father is one of the strongest! He has won wars for centuries! If we have to fight something, I want him. No we need him on our side!" Crash spat back at the girl.

"We're travelling in an unknown land! We need our journey to be blessed, so budge over and let me pray to Hermes." Rhyan pushed Crash out the way, although he didn't move much. To Birch, it mimicked a rabbit attempting to push a lion over.

For once in his life, Crash bit his tounge and allowed Rhyan to do as she wanted. She wasn't sure if Crash realised she was right or if he just wanted this over.

She picked the first one.

"Hiya Hermes... I mean dad? If I can call you that, that is.... um, well.... Crash? What do I say?" Rhyan looked up at Crash. He almost couldn't recognise her. The confident girl who'd stood up to him when he'd bullied a hunter, the girl who'd stolen food and pushed him over a minute ago to tell him he was wrong wasn't here anymore. In her place was a stuttering fool with wide eyes.

"Ask for help. Just ramble a bit. You'll be fine."

"Dear Hermes.... I- I...umm need, no. We need your help. Ya see were kinda a bit stuck and I don't know about the other two, but I'm kinda pooping my pants sooooo I was wondering if you'd maybe help us out and like bless our little trip? Please?" Rhyan rambled in under a minute, hardly stopping for a breath.

'Sacrifice' Birch mouthed.

"Oh yeah umm...." Rhyan fumbled around in her back pack and pulled out a packet of crisps that Noah had given her. "Hope ya like salt and vinager." Rhyan chucked the packet. Almost instantly the flames glowed white before disappearing.

"He's heard your prayer, we best get going."

For the rest of the day the trio had very few, if any issues while taveling. However they couldn't keep moving all the time. The sun was still bright in the sky, however Crash's watch told them it was past 10pm back at CHB.

Rhyan sat down and started to remove things from the backpacks so she could make some food. Crash started a fire and Birch ran around collecting more fire wood to keep it going.

With the fire started, Crash had nothing to do. He just sat down under a tree that was rather conveniently placed. Crash felt something pulling at him to go to the girl. He knew it wasn't appropriate, considering where they were and that they weren't usually on the best of terms, but he was sure she'd understand.

He had cirtain urges that needed to be taken care of. Becides with Birch gone, now was his only shot at it. She looked so calm and relaxed. Now was his only shot at trying.

He just hoped Rhyan would understand and not be mad at him for what he had to do.

A/N-  Fear not, its not what it seems. Sorry it's like super short but I'm a little busy at the moment.  How is everyone anyway?
