I looked up at Barry after a moment of silence. "How about you? Why'd you become a Forensic scientist?"

The room got tense and I knew I had just stumbled across a sore subject for Barry.

Iris put a hand on top of Barry's. "Barry, you don't have to." She said reassuringly.

Barry shook his head. "No, it's okay. He's our friend. He should know." Barry looked up at me. "When I was eleven years old, I was awaken from a noise downstairs in my house. All the liquids in the house were floating in the air, it was unlike anything I had seen before. I walked downstairs to see a flash of red and yellow lightning race around in circles like a ball of electricity in the middle of my living room and then suddenly I was six blocks away from my house. I ran all the way back home only to find my mother had been murdered and my father blamed for her death. I became a forensic scientist to prove my fathers innocence and find the man who killed my mom."

"I'm sorry to hear that, sounds like the Flash saved you that night." I said to him.

He nodded.

"Did you ever find the man?" I asked.

Barry nodded. "My friend Eddie and I managed to track this man down with the help of the Flash and got him to make a confession but before we could bring him in he and Eddie ended up killing each other."

Iris had a few tears rolling down her eyes and Barry had tears fighting to break open.

"Who was it?" I asked him.

"It was Eobard Thawne. The Reverse Flash." Barry said as Iris wiped the tears from her eyes.

"So you and the Flash are like buddies then?" I asked him.

Barry shook his head and laughed. "No, more like work accomplices and only on occasions. We haven't spoken for a few years. He's been busy."

I nodded. "That makes sense, all that saving the city must be pretty exhausting. I don't know how he keeps up." It took me a few moment to realize the bad pun I had just made. "Well I mean I do know how he keeps up, just with all the meta humans that are running about it must get pretty tough. Hard to lead a normal life you know."

"That's thing, when you're a superhero you don't get to live a normal life." Barry said as he began gathering dishes and taking them to the kitchen.

"Now, I think I'm ready for a beer." I said helping him out in the kitchen.

"Hey Iris babe." Barry called to her.

"Yes Bare?" She asked from the couch with a glass of wine in hand.

"Do you think he's ready to meet the rest of our friends?" Barry asked her.

I knew about the others. The CCPD's associates out of Star Labs, they usually helped with technology, information, and other things circling the meta-human threat that constantly loomed over the city.

"Yeah sure, as long as they don't talk about work related business." Iris said.

"Do you like pop culture?" Barry asked as a knock sounded at the door.

"I'm a nerd." I said shrugging.

"Then you and Cisco will get along just fine." Barry said as I followed him to the door.

The crew flooded in. There was a lot more people than expected.

"Hello, my name is Sherloque Wells. I'm a very good detective." He said to me.

"Why don't you work for the CCPD then?" I asked him.

"I'm more of a private investigator." He said in a thick French accent.

"Well it's nice to finally meet you."

"Dr. Caitlin Snow." She said shaking my hand. "I'm a doctor over at Star Labs, I usually treat dark matter related instances."

"Lukas Vincent, I'm a Forensic Scientist."

"Assistant." Barry reminded me laughing.

A tall man dressed in a nice suit with no tie walked in. "Ralph Dibny, I'm a private investigator at my own firm."

"Nice to meet you." I said shaking his hand.

"Hey, if you ever get tired of working with Boring over here come join me." He said putting a card in my hand.

I side glanced at Barry who was scowling at his friend and started laughing.

"Hey bro, I'm not really around much I'm busy doing other things, but I decided I'd show up and meet the newbie." A man who looked like a younger Joe West said walking in.

He wore a black shirt, and jeans with a flannel buttoned up almost to his neck. Something was odd though, there was a yellow strip that appeared just above his shirt.

My senses started to go into overdrive and I really had to shake them out before I started going crazy and ruin my chances with these new people.

"I'm Wally West." He said shaking my hand.

"Lukas Vincent, I'm the newbie."

"Wally." Iris said coming up and hugging him. "How long are you staying?"

"Not long, maybe an hour. I had a project I was working on back in Japan." He said to me.

"Wow, you live in Japan. That's awesome." I said to him. "How did you get here on such short notice?" I inquired.

His face lost its color and he glanced at Barry. "It wasn't short notice. I was just already in town. Got in a few days ago."

I nodded in understanding but I wasn't easy to fool.

A loud noise echoed in the hall and the room shook for a few seconds before a man with long black hair entered the room.

He was wearing a flash T-shirt with an unzipped black hoodie and a pair of jeans.

He looked at his watch. "I'm late. Oh no, not again."

"Obi-Wan's gonna kill me." I said in my best Anakin Skywalker impression.

Cisco looked back and forth between me and Barry. "This is him?"

Barry nodded. "Lukas Vincent in the flesh."

Cisco walked towards me and put a hand on my shoulder. He faked a tear. "Luke, that was beautiful."

I started laughing. "Movie, comics, video game, nerd at your service."

"We're going to be great friends."
