One week later...
After getting yelled at by Oliver for abandoning the training mission he agreed to me staying in the bunker for the time being.. only after I explained what was going on in Central City.
Barry had attempted to make multiple points of connection with me, all that I had ignored. I wanted nothing to do with the West-Allen's at least not in this vulnerable state.
My phone buzzed sharply.
Cisco was calling.
Oliver and his team were busy trying to take down Dante and Oliver's secret half sister Emiko.
And I was hiding, from the truth. From my team. From myself.
I was a coward.
"You know, you're going to have to talk to them at some point." Oliver said to me as he entered the bunker in a suit and tie.
"I can't. I can't face them. They all lied to me."
"Lukas, believe me when I tell you this. There is no one that is as hesitant when it comes to trust like I am." Oliver said coming up to me as I paced around. "I know how easily it can break, and I know how hard it is to replace but believe me when I tell you Barry Allen is a man that you can always put your trust into. No matter what it is."
"Except when it comes to time." I said to him. "Which in a way, this is connected."
Oliver shrugged his shoulders. "That's a fair point." He turned dead serious as my phone buzzed again. "Answer the phone."
I sighed as I grabbed the phone and put it up to my ear, turning and walking to the far side of the bunker.
"Hey Cisco."
"Luke." He said happily. "You answered."
"Yeah, what's going on?" I asked.
"Okay so first off, Nora turned back to normal and we stopped Cicada and destroyed the dagger. Only to realize what was happening."
"You were played." I said to him. "By Thawne, he had the dagger with him all along, so when you destroyed the dagger you freed Thawne."
"Wow, you are absolutely correct." Cisco said to me. "Anyway, Barry and Nora ran to the future to try and stop him."
"So why call me?" I asked pacing the floor.
"The team is going, the whole team. We need you here in STAR Labs." Cisco said.
And in seconds a blue swirling vortex opened in front of me as the phone hung up.
My fingers danced along the silver spider that rested in my jeans pocket.
I looked at the portal hesitantly.
"Go Lukas." Oliver encouraged. "And if it's not where you belong, there's a place for you here."
I nodded to him before I stepped into the rift and appeared on the other side in front of a weird time travel machine which is what I had guessed.
"We're all supposed to fit into that?" I asked as I pressed the spider to my chest feeling the soft fabric wash over my body like a shadow.
"We're gonna have to." Cisco said. "But we gotta go. Now."
Together the team piled into the time sphere. I was too squished to watch what was going on but I knew by the change of atmosphere and the outside world that we weren't in STAR Labs anymore.
My thoughts were interrupted for as soon as we entered the future we made contact with a very fast object shattering the time sphere.
I was quick and webbed my self to the building before jumping down with my team.
