Hey fans! Sorry it took so long for me to write this. I've been feeling well... honestly a bit not like myself right now. It's a long story, but... if you want to know all the details, feel free to ask. Just be prepared to hear me rant. >.< Kinda got a bit of inspiration due to the weather we've been having here recently, and not to mention a good friend's story. She knows who she is. Hope you all enjoy!

Adrianna held a camera in one hand and Tom's hand in the other. She was leading the way down to the first of the two waterfalls that made up Tahquamenon Falls. She had admittedly forgotten how long of a walk it was to get to them. A long forested trail led to the viewing deck for the falls, and they were nearly there. After a quick glance to the ever graying sky, Adrianna just hoped that they could make it to both falls before it began raining. She glanced back at her friends to see how they were holding up. For the most part, they were all still smiling and walking not too far behind them. The only exception to the rule was Marisa, who was being carried piggyback style by Rupert. She swore they were probably the cutest thing she had ever seen.

"Are you seriously that tired already?" Adrianna asked loudly.

"Nope," Marisa answered, a huge smile on her face.

Adrianna shook her head just in time to see the staircase a few feet in front of them. She could already hear the roar of the falls long before they arrived at the stairs, and the deafening sound only got louder as the group of eight made their way down to the first, and largest, waterfall in the series of six that made up Tahquamenon Falls. Adrianna stood close to the railing, feeling the mist hit her face from the water crashing roughly fifty feet below her. The brunette slipped the camera from her wrist and started snapping pictures as quickly as she possibly could.

"You weren't kidding, Dree," Tom breathed in between taking a few pictures himself. "This place is stunning!"

Adrianna glanced up at her boyfriend and smiled. "I told you so!"

The girl looked over at the rest of her friends. They all practically had the same shocked look plastered across their faces. Once again, she was finding herself glad that she brought them all with her. She couldn't have imagined having this much fun with just her family. Don't get her wrong, Adrianna loved her family; she just thought that they were unexciting and sometimes Debbie downers.

Her thoughts were jostled when she felt Tom pull her close to him to take a picture of them together in front of the falls. Adrianna put a smile on her face, just in time for the flash to kick in and cause her temporary blindness. She shook the white circles from her eyes before leaning on the railing once again. Adrianna relaxed when she felt Tom's arm wrap around her waist gently, not that she already wasn't relaxed on this vacation.

Adrianna stood there in silence for a few moments, waiting for her friends to finish taking pictures. When the flashes had finally ceased, Adrianna took Tom's hand and pulled him back towards the staircase. Upon reaching the top of the stairs once again, Adrianna felt exactly what she didn't want to feel: a drop of rain. That wasn't good. They still needed to get to the other falls before it started to rain. If they wanted to see both, they would have to hurry.

With a quick glance over her shoulder, she called out to her friends, "Hurry up! It's starting to rain!" The girl heard a few moans of disappointment echo throughout the group, though it seemed as if they slowed down.

Adrianna shook her head and put her focus on getting to the car. The sooner they got to the car, the sooner they could drive the four miles down the road to the Lower Falls, and the sooner they could get everything done. A quick glance to the sky didn't help her; the sky was growing ever darker, a sure sign of rain. Adrianna hadn't forgotten how quickly Michigan's weather could change. She could remember one week of her childhood in which they had all four seasons within a four day period. It wasn't fun, and she knew how a beautiful summer day could quickly turn tornadic.

The walk back seemed to be longer than the walk there, and when Adrianna finally took a seat in her car, she took a deep breath. As she and Tom waited in her car for the rest of them to get settled inside, she glanced at him.

"This could get really ugly, really quick," she warned him. "I've seen how bipolar our weather can be here; so... we need to get a move on to the other falls, see them, and get out."

He nodded, not doubting for a second his girlfriend's knowledge on the weather. It was, after all, what she was going to school for. He glanced to see Rupert and Marisa finally seated behind them. "Well now that the group is all here and in the other car, let's go," he answered her.

Without another word, Adrianna pulled out of the parking lot, Sam's car following closely behind them. The girl focused on driving the four miles to the Lower Falls, trying to make sure they had enough time to get everything accomplished. She glanced to her left to see Tom typing something in on his phone before turning into the park once again.

"Well, according to this, we have about thirty minutes before this becomes unbearable to walk through," Tom guessed. "Lots of reds and oranges, so I'm guessing this isn't good."

"Not at all," Adrianna muttered, parking in the closest spot she could find.

Admittedly, Adrianna had never spent less time at the waterfalls in her life. The girl practically had the group run to the falls, snap a few pictures, and run back. The last thing she wanted was to get caught in the thunderstorms that were growing ever closer to them. She knew all too well that when they got back to camp that their sites were going to be soaked, if not partially underwater. Luckily, they had put their tents on the higher ground just in case of something like this were to occur.

They left the park soon later, Adrianna speeding all the way back to camp. Honestly, it was the worst weather conditions the girl had ever driven in; heavy rain, hail, high winds, and frequent lightning made it difficult for her to drive safely. Luckily, both cars made it back to Grand Marais in one piece, although a few of the occupants were a little jostled by the bad weather. When Adrianna sat down at an empty table at the Lake Superior Brewing Company, she felt admittedly a lot better. She was tired from the long day, and she was only ready to eat. She was sure all her friends thought the same way when they joined her.

"So that was not how I thought this day was going to go," Matt muttered.

"Right, I thought we were going to see some waterfalls, and relax," Sam added. "I never thought we were going to get trapped in bad weather and rush through everything."

"I'm sorry," Adrianna said quietly, her head resting on her folded arms. She felt Tom place his arm on the back of her chair.

"Oh don't be sorry, Dree!" Marisa assured. "We still got to see beautiful waterfalls, and we had an adventure! I know I still had fun!"

"Glad you enjoyed it," Adrianna answered. "I just wish we could've stayed longer. But you know... Michigan's bipolar weather had to ruin it."

"It didn't ruin anything," Tom tried to assure her. "Don't be so hard on yourself. It's not your fault Mother Nature had other plans she didn't tell you about. It was still better than sitting around all day doing nothing."

"Very true," Val agreed quietly. "And now we get pizza so..."

"I just hope this pizza is as good as you say it is," Rupert added.

Adrianna pulled herself up, leaning back in her chair. "It's better than I've told you," she promised, a huge smile on her face. "Probably the best pizza I've ever had."

As the waitress approached the table, Adrianna was sure this night was only going to get better. The day might've been crap, but she knew that it could easily be fixed with the shenanigans they were going to get into that night.
