***I love baseball analogies because they reflect life so beautifully. For the non baseball people, hang on! I wrote it where you can still understand! :) ***

In baseball, you get three strikes and you're out. Statistically speaking, once you have two strikes on you, the overall batting average across Major League Baseball drops by nearly 60%. (I'm on spiders elite .com for my baseball nerds.)

Why? Because pitchers KNOW the batter HAS to swing, so he throws junk pitches. Stuff batters would normally NEVER swing at, something he can't hit well. Easy outs!

What this means for my non baseball fans...when the pressure is on, we tend to do worse! Because we are more susceptible to reach for junk. Now a good batter will stay calm and only swing at the good pitches, but often times our own anxiety and overthinking cause us to do things we wouldn't normally do.

Let's switch from baseball to our lives. The count in our life might be 0-2, we are right on the edge of disaster...satan can throw a junk pitch and get you out at any time. But we know we can count on God to come in clutch and hit the ball for us. We need to have faith that He will, and patience for him to do so.

John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Here's a simple example from me.

-Dad #1, my biological dad, chose drugs over me and my mom. Died. Strike one.
-Dad #2, stepdad, was kind of horrible and abusive for years. Strike 2.
Here I am, barely an adult, hurting, not trusting men or understanding why I couldn't have a dad that loved me.
Here comes God...home run!

He was always there, I just had to let him step up to the plate for me.

Luke 11:13
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

It doesn't matter if you have struck out 100 times, let God, your Father,  come to bat for  you now. Have faith that He will get you on base, He will let you score when the time is right. We can't take off running when we want to, we can't try to steal bases on our own time. We can't see the whole field like He can...we might get tagged out. But if we run when he gives the signal, we can slide home safe.
